— Hoshina-san spoke through the door, revealing his presence to Kafka-san, and i followed suit.
“Yo-hoo.” I gave him a wave, running off to his side and taking a look at what he was reading.
“Oh, Vice-captain Hoshina! And Guinne. ” he exclaimed in shock, while giving me a smile.
“Sleeping is also part of the job. ” Hoshina-san told him.
“I can’t afford to be expelled at this stage.” Kafka-san looked away from him.
“Is it for Captain Ashiro?” Hoshina-san questioned, which resulted in Kafka-san standing up abruptly in shock.
While i just went on and started reading the books he laid out, deeply interested in its shit to the point of not paying any mind to what they were talking about.
“No conversation within the dormitory escapes my ears.” Hoshina-san’s statement caught my attention.
“Pervert.” I spat out, not batting him an eye.
“I didn’t do it with the girl’s bath!” He said in defense.
“Pervert.” I repeated, flipping through the next page, and not paying them any mind anymore.
Even though their conversation sounded interesting, the thing i’m reading was beyond interesting.
After all, i saw a picture of a Kaiju that looked similar to my Kaiju form.
I decided to sneak the book with me, holding onto it and looking back at he vice-captain. His face twitched at Kafka-san’s bold statement, which i found adorable.
He slammed his hand on the table, “Not bad. You have two hours. Remember to turn of the lights and lock up after.” He said, leaving the keys and turned around.
“I won’t give up the position by Captain Ashiro’s side to you.” He said in a serious voice, blessing us with his eyes.
I whistled at this, grinning playfully. “Hot.” I giggled.
“Thank you very much, sir-!” Kafka-san saluted, but was cut off when Hoshina-san spoke again.
“Also, there should be a limit to getting along with Officers.” He said, voice low and had no hint of his usual playfulness.
“In this line of work, anyone can die.” He said, and i pursed my lips at his statement.
Is that why you’re so keen in pushing me away? I thought, feeling a bugging weight on my chest.
We were startled when the alarm suddenly went off, a notice that a Kaiju has appeared close-by.
“Speaking of the devil. Let’s go.” He gave us a smile, to which i grinned at.
“It’s your first mission.”
