JEEZ, WHY’D I HAVE TO CARRY YOU? MY LEGS FEEL SORE.

— He complained, plopping down the ground, and i followed suit.

I observed his features, he seemed disappointed at letting Kafka-san escape. I can’t blame him, he must’ve wanted to catch a big-shot Kaiju.

“You look ugly when you’re glum, Hoshina-san. ” I voiced out, frowning.
He glanced at me, smiling slightly at my words.

“Yeah? And you look ugly every time. ” He rebutted, flicking my forehead.

“Asshole.” I hissed, rubbing the area he flicked.

“300 push-ups. ” He pointed at me, and i rolled my eyes at this.

We stayed quiet. I can understand his disappointment, i couldn’t kill off the Kaiju no. 9, after all.

“You two look depressed. That’s rare. ” Mina-san’s voice snapped us back to reality.

“Mina-san!” I beamed, standing up and clinging onto her like a koala bear.

“Damn. You found me at my lowest state. ” Hoshina-san murmured.

“I’ll keep a record of it to commemorate.” Mina-san brought out her smartphone, taking a picture.

“Ooh, forward it to me.” I grinned, looking at the picture.

“So, was he strong, this Kaiju no. 8?” Mina-san asked, serious.

“He’s probably a Daikaiju.” Hoshina-san admitted.

“In that case, he’s the first one since the one in Fukuoka five years ago.” Mina-san acknowledged.

“Luckily, there hasn’t been any reported victims of No. 8 these past few months. He doesn’t seem to be the type to attack humans needlessly.” His voice gradually became quiet.

That’s because he doesn’t need to! Realize that please! I pleaded inside of my head, Ashiri snorting in response.

“But I agree with him. That no. 8 is a Daikaiju, although i’m not too sure of its identity.” Ashiri spoke.

You think you know it? I asked.

“I’m well acquainted with all the Daikaijus you humans have slayed. ” She revealed.

Wow, you’re old. I pointed out.

“How insensitive!”  She exaggerated.

But it’s true. Oh by the way, is there any way to keep your sword with me without transforming the area it’s holding onto?
I asked.

“Yeah, wanna keep it?” Ashiri asked.

Yeah. It’s far stronger.

“It’s crafted using my flesh, duh. That’s mainly the reason why despite being inside of you, i could still keep it with me. I’ll make arrangements so that you don’t need to transform your waist area just to use the sword. It might take a few hours, so don’t disturb me.” Ashiri instructed.

Sure, whatever. I agreed.

You’re really lucky it’s me who’s inside you and not some bullcrap of a Kaiju.”
