— Everybody stayed quiet, focused on the task given to us.
“Good. . . No matter how good your scores are during training, that won’t save a single life. It’s time, recruits. Show me what you can do in the battlefield .” He said through the earpiece, making me smile in excitement.
“You’re too much of a simp.” Ashiri commented, and i just rolled my eyes at her.
“Alright, let’s go!” Iharu yelled.
“Yeah!!” Everyone roared, feeling pumped up.
“Have fun out there, guys.” Hoshina-san mused.

Yoju sighted in Section Echo.
“Phew, finally.” I licked my lips, holding my gun close in excitement.
“Let’s go, Kikoru, Guinne.” Kafka-san turned to us, both me and Kikoru giving him a small smile.
“Why are you ordering me around? ” Kikoru huffed, running ahead with the others.
“Don’t die on there, Ichikawa/Baby!” Me and Kafka-san said to the earpiece at the same time, running forward as well.
We all jumped down, well, except Kafka-san who climbed down.
We all waited, some were tense, some were waiting in anticipation. Everyone’s feelings were valid.
However, the mood was destroyed when Kafka-san ended up being thrown by a Yoju to the trash, which led to Kikoru scolding him off.
“Damn, why are we stuck babysitting the new recruits?” one of the seniors complained.
“How cocky. Makes me want to bust his skull open.” Ashiri scoffed. You’re not alone this time.
“Can’t you guys just sit someplace else and watch? ” He added. I gave Kikoru a look, her nodding in response.
“Listen up! We still don’t know the enemy’s vulnerable points! Play it safe until we get info from the ones in the front line.” As soon as he was done speaking, Kikoru shot an incoming Yoju’s head, killing it instantly.
“Roger that. I’ll play it safe and blast anything that can be a weak point.” Kikoru said, jumping on the wall and shooting.
“Why play it safe when i’m fully capable of killing them off in one shot?” I grinned, running past him and shooting the Yojus who came attacking me with one shot each.
In the end, it took me and Kikoru a second or even less to get rid of the first wave. I sighed, looking back at the senior and smirked at him while Kikoru jumped back down.
“Kikoru, Guinne.” Kafka-san called for us, and i tilted my head in response.
“Nice!” He praised, giving us two thumbs up. I smiled and copied him, while Kikoru acted like the tsundere she is.
The fight progressed smoothly. Each squad being able to clear their respective sites with ease.
“Cutie, i’m having difficulty in tracking them. It seems like they’re moving in different directions. They’re still far, but i can sense them. Be on guard.” Ashiri informed, and i cleched my grip on the gun at this.
Understood. You should also be prepared, if i can’t handle it, i might change into your form. I replied.
“My powers and body’s yours to use, you’re my contractor after all.”
