Chapter 31 - Descendant

❝SO YOU’RE THE ONE USING MY BODY?❞

— A voice from behind spoke, and i instantly turned around, surprised that my environment suddenly changed.

What is happening to me? I gritted my teeth, placing a hand on my head as it started throbbing.

“I’m guessing the sudden burst of information made your head throb. Here, let me fix it. ” She moved closer to me, almost as if she was flying and caressed my hair.

As she did so, the pain subsided, the dark and eerie environment also changed into a place similar to where. . . I and that lady spoke at.

“What exactly. . . is going on? ” I asked, watching as she sat in front of me.

“Why do you look like. . . ” I trailed off, unsure if i should call that body mine or someone else’s.

“Why do i look like you? ” She emphasized the last word, and for some unknown reason, it comforted me that she considered that body mine.

“It’s because i’m Aguinne. The soul of the body you’re residing in. ” She smiled, eyes shining.

She’s breathtaking. I thought, observing her features closely.

Small face, pinkish lips, pointy nose, long lashes, godly smile, wavy and luscious white hair that complimented her pale skin and purple eyes. I took note of each.

I didn’t look this beautiful when I looked in the mirror. Is it her effect? I thought, confused at the little difference.

“I’m certain you have many things you want to know. However, i’m very displeased to inform you that as of now, i’m unable to help you. ” She broke the silence, pushing a cup in front of me.

“We’re doing our very best to keep your soul intact. After your encounter with Lady Soleia, your fragile and currently weak soul began to crumble. ” She sighed.

“Although her pressure is insane, it would be impossible for that pressure to do such damage alone. Which led us to the conclusion that she casted a curse on you. ” I stared at her blankly.

My eyes widened, “Curse. . .? ” I mumbled in confusion.

“Your soul and body are supposed to be protected. Blessings from various gods and goddesses were blessed upon you right before your soul transferred into my body. ” She began.

“But of course, not all were pleased with relying on a mere human to  s꙲a꙲v꙲e꙲ t꙲h꙲e꙲ b꙲o꙲t꙲h꙲ t꙲h꙲e꙲ l꙲a꙲n꙲d꙲ o꙲f꙲ d꙲e꙲i꙲t꙲i꙲e꙲s꙲ a꙲n꙲d꙲ a꙲l꙲l꙲ o꙲f꙲ l꙲i꙲v꙲i꙲n꙲g꙲ b꙲e꙲i꙲n꙲g꙲s꙲..” She stopped speaking when she realized i couldn’t understand her last sentence.

“I apologize, i forgot that it was also restricted. That aside, Lady Soleia was only one of the many who dislikes you. They gathered their powers, and under the guise of helping you, they cast a curse on your soul. ” She said with a sad expression.

“What curse? ” I gulped.

“Y꙲o꙲u꙲ w꙲i꙲l꙲l꙲ d꙲i꙲e꙲ a꙲t꙲ t꙲h꙲e꙲ h꙲a꙲n꙲d꙲s꙲  a꙲n꙲d꙲ i꙲n꙲ f꙲r꙲o꙲n꙲t꙲ o꙲f꙲ b꙲o꙲t꙲h꙲ m꙲e꙲n꙲ y꙲o꙲u꙲ l꙲o꙲v꙲e꙲.” My brows furrowed at this.

“It seems like Lady Soleia and her minions have found us, they’re even capable of disrupting and cancelling the information that isn’t restricted. ” Guinne sighed.

“I apologize, Miss [Y/N], but it seems like we must part our ways here. When the time comes, i and Lady Xeria swear thatwe will aid you in regaining all the memories that was once within your soul. Not just your memories from being [Y/N], but from being all the previous identities you once had.” She stood up, smiling at me.

“And when that comes, I will also explain everything about me and the connection between us.” She added.

“Wait, I thought your body was chosen because it was the perfect vessel for my soul and that this whole reincarnation thing was for me to ascend to heaven?!” I stood up, confused.

“We apologize, but that was not the true and entire reason. I swear we will tell you once we’ve dealt with Lady Soleia’s curse, and once your soul is fully healed. Please focus on getting stronger both physically and spiritually, for we are not sure if Lady Soleia plans to invade the world you reside in. She may or may not send her lackeys to destroy your peace, and given how that world also has Kaijus, it will be very difficult for you to handle both entities.” She explained.

“I trust that you will surpass us, [Y/N]. I trust that you will protect those you love. I trust that this time, you will live. Surpass your limits, surpass everything.” Were her last words before disappearing. I looked around, sitting back on the chair.

“Are you content with the answers you got, my dear?” A voice spoke from behind, and unlike the chilling and terrifying pressure of that Soleia, i felt warmth and fluffy.

The woman walked in front of me, sitting on the chair Guinne occupied earlier and gave me a smile.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you for the second time, my lovely descendant.” Her eyes sparkled.

“Descendant. . .?” I trailed off, brows furrowed.

“Indeed. You are my descendant. You must’ve met Xeria before, the woman who helped you in getting inside Guinne’s body.” She took my hand.

“Your powers are sealed within you. It would’ve blossomed already, but Soleia’s curse affected it as well. Their curse has spread all over your body, it weakened your improvement, and shattered a big portion of your soul.” She caressed my hair, and i could feel my body relaxing.

“However, rest assured. I will help you eradicate a portion of their curse. I will help you unlock your full potential, even if not in an instant. Sleep my child, for when you wake up, you will no longer be weakened by Soleia’s curse. Your prowess and potential will blossom as you keep training, so train and be strong.” As my eyes began to feel heavy, it felt like something inside of me was released.

As if my body was ascending.

“However, remember that the curse is still there. Your and your lovers’ fates will still end that way, so be fast in unlocking your powers. I’ve done my part, my child. Everything is now on your hands.” Were the last words i heard before loosing consciousness.

After what felt like forever, my eyes slowly began to open. The familiar ceiling of the hospital greeted my vision, and i instantly looked around.

My eyes met with someone else’s, and i could hear glass shattering, a scream following soon after.

“M-Miss Guinne’s awake!”
