— Iharu’s voice trembled, watching as Guinne battled the Kaiju toe-to-toe in her human form.
He found it confusing as to where she got the sword she was wielding, and how efficient she was in battling with two weapons, given how hard it is to use their gun with only one hand.
Waning! Warning! Signs of overheating!
“Guinne! Your suit! ” Iharu yelled, trying to stand up yet found it futile to do so.
I can’t finish him off today. My body’s slowly feeling fatigued, and he’s far stronger than the female Kaiju i prepared myself to fight. I just have to hold on until he arrives. Guinne thought, gritting her teeth.
“Or just transform. . . is what i’ll say if only that Furuhashi boy is asleep.” Ashiri commented.
The female paid no heed to the overheating. She swung, shot , and dashed as if it was the only thing she could do. She was too blinded with rage.
Guinne swung her sword horizontally, grazing the Kaiju’s neck and almost decapitated him for the second time, yet collapsed to the floor due to overheating.
I. . . I can’t move my body! She thought in frustration, using all her strength to stand yet all was in vain.
“Is that all you can do, human? After boasting that you’re stronger than me?” The Kaiju hovered over her, gripping onto her hair and raising her.
Guinne glared at him with no fear, transforming her hand that held the sword and pierced the Kaiju in his neck, resulting for the Kaiju to let go of her.
“It’s no use. You’re going to die by my hands today.” The Kaiju leapt backwards, mainting distance from me.
What took you so long. . .? Her senses came back to her upon sensing the uncoming lump of energy.
Kafka-san. She thought, tears almost falling from her eyes as she turned around and used her sword for support.
“Reno, it’s all gonna be okay now.” She sat beside him, caressing his cheeks.
“He’s here.” As she said that, the Kaiju’s body flung to the air, a pair of strong yet delicate arms cradled the two of them, settling them into a far corner.
“Sorry, Ichikawa. It looks like it’s gonna take a lot longer.” Kafka spoke, kneeling in front of Reno who was resting on Guinne’s shoulder.
“No. . .” He tried saying, coughing up blood in response.
“Don’t worry. Just calm down and have the suit close the wounds one by one.” Kafka added, yet his seriousness slipped away right after.
“Well, i guess you don’t a lecture from me on that, huh? I can’t even do it.” He said, unserious and laughing.
“Take care of him for me, Guinne.” Kafka turned to the said female, patting her head gently.
“You don’t need to tell me that. Just get one in on that fucker, i’ll specially let you handle my prey since i’m too strained.” Guinne smiled, holding onto Reno’s hand tightly. Kafka smiled at this, standing up and walking towards the enemy Kaiju.
“Senpai. . . Be careful.” Reno muttered out, relaxing onto Guinne’s shoulders and holding onto her.
“Yeah. Just leave it all to me.” Kafka responded, facing the Kaiju who started talking nonsense.
“Relax, Reno. He’ll handle it.” Guinne spoke in a quiet and soothing voice, caressing the man’d hair comfortingly.
“No matter how strong that Kaiju is, he’ll never win against Kafka-san in that state. I know because i fought it.” She added, reassuring the male.
“So just lean on me, heal up, and let our senpai handle the rest.”
