She watched as he walked out of the bedroom , and wearily closed her eyes , how did she even get home last night ? And what did Suga want to talk to her about , was he going to leave her ?!..
Her head hurt but not half as much as those potential words hurt ...she closed her eyes, she wasn't well enough to face this , but she knew she must.
She drank the little bottle of cure he'd given her , using it to swallow some pain relief tablets and tried to mentally prepare herself.
She sat up and crossed her legs and took some deep breaths , she tried to recall if she had embarressed herself even more last night.
As ready as she would ever be she , and only because her bladder insisted , she got out of bed and went to the bathroom. After relieving herself, she washed her face and changed into some shorts and a t shirt .
Feeling slightly more human she walked bravely into her sitting room.
Suga was sat on the floor infront of the little table , a bowl and spoon set opposite him , along with fruit juice and what looked very much like strong black coffee.
He was sat with his hands in his lap and head low.
' damn !' She thought feeling sick...' I'm not ready !'
She sat down and he looked up , a sad smile on his face , he opened his mouth as though to speak but she got there first " how did I get home?" She asked ..the first sentence she could come up with..she had to stall him ...
" oh " he said clearly not expecting that " erm I came with Rm and brought you home "
He smiled at the memory, for a moment the seriousness of their talk forgotten " did you know you're incredibly cute when drunk ?"
The block of ice sat at the bottom of her stomach started to melt slightly..' he thought I was cute ?"
" I'm sorry I was an inconvenience to you " She said quietly ...
He laughed a little " I just said you were cute , how did that make you an inconvenience to me.? Teri..." he said " you know I love you right ?"
Tears sprung to her eyes " but.. yesterday..on the phone?" She said ..so torn and confused.
He got up from the table and came and squatted beside her , pulling her into him " I'm so sorry " he said brushing the back of her head with his hand " I shouldn't have spoken to you like that "
She sniffed " then why did you ?"
It was crunch time he thought pulling back to face her, but kept his hands on her shoulders....he took a breath " I owe you an apology for more than how I spoke to you yesterday ....."
By the time he had finished explaining everything she was numb ...she stood up pushing him away " you went through my phone ?! "
He had no words just nodded
" you went and found that man by yourself?!" Her voice was raised " are you stupid ?!" She almost shouted ....he looked up " stupid?" He asked , not sure how that question was relevant...
" you could have been hurt !? " She said , panic in her voice now " you , you who is so precious to not just me but your brothers and your niece and the millions of Army and the thousands that rely on BTS for work and you went and found .....Song geom-eun gae !! By yourself!? "
She paced back and forth in her small living room , what if he'd been hurt ? What if that man had hurt him ? all because of her, the pain from her hangover , the pain in her heart had her reaching out to steady herself against the wall ...and then she abruptly sat down , her legs not wanting to support her.
She held her head in her hand " I should have left as soon as he contacted me , I should go !! ... your the secret he knows about!! " Realisation dawning on her ...." he will come for you ...." she was close to hysterical .
Suga rushed over to her and grabbed her " Teri! Teri look at me !" She couldnt, so lost in her fear for him ...he shook her gently " Teri..I'm OK!"
His words penetrated just enough and she looked up , her eyes like a deer caught in headlights " for how long ?" She asked in a terrified whisper " I should have left but I was too selfish "
" Teri!" He said " I won't let you go any where , that man will not tear us apart , but you need to tell me who he is to you and what's going on .. I can protect you ! "
A shiver went through her and her next words broke his heart " how ? " she said quietly, almost resigned to her fate " you've already lost him "
She was right and he let go and sat down with a thud " despite all his words and big brave actions that man had still managed to evade his team and get back to Korea.
There was a long silence between them , each lost in thought , neither knowing what to say, then Teri stood up " I have to go to work " she said walking to her room to grab her clothes ..Suga looked at the time and swore, but chased after her " we still need to talk" he said taking her arm, words coming to him now as the thought of her leaving , maybe for good filled him with a panic he had never before felt " I might not know where he is but both you and I are safe!..you have 2 security guards that have been following you around since the begining and you know me and my brothers ....we never go anywhere with out protection "
She turned and folded her arms and stared at him " but you did ! You !...on your own !! Went and found him , how do I know you want do that again ?"
" I promise you " he said , his eyes pleading with her , nothing about this conversation had gone the way he had thought it would ... " Teri, babe , please trust me , please believe me , I would never do anything to hurt you or let anything hurt you "
The tears were back " if you got hurt I would die " she said simply. He pulled her in and held her tightly " I promise I won't let anyone hurt me or you, I swear "
They stayed like that for a while but eventually she pulled back , wiping her face with her hand " I really do have to go to work " she said almost apologetically.." we really need to carry on talking though " he said , she shook her head " I know for a fact you have commitments this morning too because I'm the one that made the schedual for the stylist teams "
Again he swore " I'll be done by early afternoon, do you have much on or do you think I can request your services and get you out early ? "
She nodded " I can be done by 2 as well "
" OK " he said " get dressed and ill give you a lift "
She blanched at the idea " what if someone sees ?" She said ..
" I don't care " he almost growled " I dont want to leave you until I have to "
She went to protest but he was having none of it so she gave in and went into the bathroom to wash .
She looked at herself in the mirror, eyes red and swollen..Great ! ...she thought , good job I know make up '
By the time she had finished she looked as fresh as a daisy and even the look in her eye was less petrified..now she had got over the initial shock she had realised a few things, firstly , he wasn't breaking up with her , this fact alone made her smile , and secondly, he was right, she had seen pictures of some of their security guards , they were built like tanks , knowing that these brave men, maybe women, she didn't know , where out there definitely went a long way to reassuring her, but if Suga ever ....she turned and stormed out the bathroom , " If you EVER put yourself in danger I'll never forgive you " she said "
He caught her just before she got to him " do you know how fucking gorgeous you are with your eyes all blazing like that " and he kissed her.
