Standing in the hallway outside of the conference room Teri stood nervously .She brushed at her white fitted suit for imaginary lint and noticed her hand shaking, so did Suga and he took it in his warm big hands , holding it tightly to his chest .
" you're beautiful , safe, and with me. There's no need to be nervous "
She honestly tried to smile reassuringly, but she suddenly felt emotional and very overwhelmed .
Her eyes welled up with tears as her mind screamed ' I can't do this !' , but Suga , who knew her so well , just lent forward and wrapped his free arm around her and held her . Quietly he said " if you really don't want to do this babes I can do it with out you. This is my world I'm asking you to step into and if you're not ready , then that's ok too . "
The last thing he wanted to do was make her do something she didn't want to do , although speaking to the press now was the quickest and easiest way . A bit like taking a plaster off , rip it off quickly rather than a slow peel , get the pain over and done with.
His brothers had all offered to come and show their support , just like they had for Tae and Jk , and Rm and Rose , but as Teri was still nervous about some of the guys .. somthing he needed to rectify soon...only Rm and Rose had come along to support.
Bang had argued it could be taken in a negative way , but Teri being happy and comfortable, although couldn't always be his absolute priority, in this instance was.
She took a steadying breath , he was right , she had him , what was there to fear ' only everyone hating you ' came a tiny voice of doubt , but then she saw Rose , standing and laughing with Rm. Rose was gorgeous inside and out , but not by korean standards , she had curves like Marilyn Monroe and boobs Teri was jealous of . ' I wonder if she felt this nervous coming out to Army ?' She mused to herself , successfully distracting from her current predicament momentarily .
Rose look up and caught Teri's eye from across the room..she smiled and clenched her fist pulling it down in front of her and mouthed the word ' fighting ' and Teri couldn't help but smile . The sign of support was something many people in Korea did but seeing it come from Rose was actually quite comical for some reason. Her smile threaten to turn into nervous giggles and she had to turn her head so as to not to let Rose see . Giggling when nervous, this was new thing , but , she thought hiding her fingers , better than chewing on her nails .
Rm walked over and Suga , keeping hold of Teri's hand but lowering it ,turned to face him. " Ready ?" He asked both of them .
Using her sleeve Teri quickly wiped her eyes from the unshed tears and then she swore because she had forgotten the two hours of make up , hair and clothes that Sugas stylists had put her through..on her white sleeve was a smudge of mascara , with panic she looked up at Suga , but he just gently used his thumb to smooth out under her eye and then carefully rolled her cuff up , first one then the other . He smiled at her , and she got lost in his eyes , no matter what happened , he was always there for her , making everything better.
She said thank you softly then turned to Rm and said " ready "
As they walked into the room a million flashes lit the air , Bang and Rm walked in first and then Suga and Teri. She wanted so badly to loop her arm through his and hide , but didn't, she held her head high and chanted he loves me he loves me with every step she took until the 4 of them where sat behind a desk, microphones in front and so many reporters and cameras that she almost felt faint , but still she kept her shoulders back and head high , and held Sugas hand under the long table , that conveniently had a table cloth on .
Bang stood up first and said they had a statement to make but they wouldn't be taking questions, he then announced that yes Min yoon-gi was in a serious relationship.
He then mentioned briefly that they had met through work and that yes the speculative news that had been leaked was correct in that Teri's stepfather had tried to extort money from Teri , using her relationship with Suga to try and blackmail them . The man had been involved in a police chase and accident and will ultimately be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law once his injuries allowed , due to it being an ongoing case they would not be elaborating more on the subject.
The room erupted when he had finish speaking and Teri honestly thought she'd go blind with the flashes or deaf from the shouts but Suga squeezed her hand and then leant forward taking the microphone in his free hand . The reporters and noise died down . First he respectfully greeted the members of the press and thanked them for coming , and then he asked them for their understanding and Teri's need for privacy " she didn't sign up for this " he said indicating the room full of people " the only thing she did was accept my feelings , and then reciprocate them. "
More noise and then Rm stood up " we , as Bts are happy that our brother has found his forever love , we have accepted Teri as our sister and we hope that you will be as loving, accepting and respectful as you are towards my wife.
We have giving you ( Army ) all of our youth and we promise to continue to give you our future....our heart , our love , until we are too old to sing and dance and beyond, but as grown men please allow us to grow just like all of you , to have a family and special loved one. As you have seen with Tae and Jk , Myself and Rose , allowing us to love an individual does not take away our devotion to all of you "
By now Teris eyes had started to well up again , but this time Rose , hiding in the wings had noticed and sent a runner with some tissue , which Teri took gratefully.
Teri avoided looking around the room , she didn't want to see the reactions of the peoples faces , she looked ahead and slightly over them instead praying it was over.
She felt more than saw Suga lean in and whisper " breath babe , just breath "
He squeezed her hand again and she turned to look at him. She felt so much love for this man that for a moment her world was perfect...the clicks of the camera shutters barely registered as just for a second time stopped and she smiled .
That was the picture that made the headlines and Suga had had it printed in colour and it was now standing in a frame , pride of place on his desk .
