Chapter thirty-seven: The date (Part 4)

As the slick black Honda NSX with gold trim rolled around the corner. Mena knew the car all too well. "She's brought out Shady." The demon laughed and shook her head, smiling at the car. The car came to a stop in front of the pale red-headed woman. Mena watched the window roll down and her ruby red eyes locked on golden ones. "Hi, 'Toria.." Mena mumbled, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment as she felt the other woman's eyes wander over her figure.

"Mena, this evening you exude a captivating beauty that is truly enchanting." Victoria's strange, overly worded way of talking filled the woman's ears, causing her to bite her bottom lip out of slight embarrassment. "My dearest princess, I humbly inquire if you are prepared to embark?"

Mena's eyes widened as the word 'princess' left the other woman's mouth. "I.. I thought tonight was going to be a platonic date..?"

"This rendezvous, my dear, is an exquisite display of platonic affection, for what reason could it possibly be anything else?" Victoria smiled softly, leaning over to the passengers side and pushing open the door of the car. "Is it perchance due to the fact that I addressed you as my fair princess?"

Mena's cheeks flushed more as she gathered the strength to climb into the passenger's seat, close the door and pull her seatbelt on. "No, it has nothing to do with that.." The woman tried to explain herself and her thought process but she couldn't; it would be weird to admit such a thing to one of her best friends; especially one of straight friends.

Victoria laughed softly and shook her head, going back to date night plans. "We are embarking on a splendid journey to Fortune for an exquisite dining experience." She explained, turning away from the curve and into the street, driving down the street. "I perused the menu in advance and discovered that there are exquisite vegan and vegetarian selections available, so there is no need for concern."

Mena's eyes widened slightly. "You thought that far ahead? 'Toria, you're stupid." The woman laughed, shaking her head and feeling her hair fall into her eyes, a gentle smile on her lips. "Thank you, Victoria."

The woman's golden eyes softened and a smile slid across her red lips. "No gratitude is necessary, my dear princess." She said softly, keeping her eyes on the road while she drove, however one of her hands reached over and grabbed hold of the demons, giving the drastically paler hand a reassuring, comforting squeeze.

Mena hummed and laid her head back on the headrest. "Is this place fancy or something? Is that why you pulled Shady out?"

"Alas, I have rescued Shady from the situation, allowing you to experience a taste of opulence like never before." Victoria said softly, pulling a laugh from the Ukrainian woman's throat. "Is shady not meeting your esteemed standards?"

Mena shook her head "no- no, i'm alright.. It's perfect." The woman tried to explain, not sure how this conversation twisted into what she thought about the car.

Victoria nodded and the rest of the drive was silent

Mena sighed as she slowly got out of the car, closing the door behind her and glancing at the exterior of the restaurant. It was a more classical type of restaurant, it had soft blue curtains in the window with a lovely Cobalt blue canopy over the entrance.

Victoria climbed out of the car, closing the door and locking it, walking around to the sidewalk and wrapping an arm around Mena's waist. "My dearest princess, I beseech you, are you prepared for the grandeur that awaits you?" She asked, giving the other woman's waist a gentle squeeze.

Mena's cheeks went bright red. "Ah.. yes.." She whispered, her voice quiet and shy, she wasn't used to getting this kind of affection from Victoria. The only affection from Victoria she had ever gotten before was when the darker skinned woman was when she was drunk and had her ability fully activated. The tiger would curl around Mena in her bed.
