"And if you need me cuz jus call, a nigga willing to come up there to help you if you need me." Marcus said and RJ smiled.
"That's because he is not working anymore." RJ chimed in.
"One call for anything." Marcus added and Caesar laughed taking the phone off speaker as his cousins bickered in the background.
Caesar's assistant Palmer nosely looked at him curious to see who he was even talking to.
"I promise I will be fine, it's only a few days. I'll be back home before I go to New York." He said before his phone message notification went off.
His family had become his biggest support system to his surprise and with his swift departure everyone seemed to be worried.
If he was being honest Caesar was actually worried.
He was worried that somehow or someway someone would mess up what he had going on with his family.
He figured 5 days clean in the city was not an impossible task, he had even done it before.
Caesar's phone went off again before he took a look and he couldn't help but smile.
It was Ocean.
Of course, Ocean was still back and forth about him being in their son's life but so far she was being fair and giving him a chance. Honestly, he didn't expect it not with how their first meet went. Caesar didn't plan on doing anything to mess that up.
Sober, nonproblematic, and clear-headed was all he intended to be as he looked down at the picture of one reason why, Zachary.
Ocean had sent him a message per the request of their son captioned 'Family' and Caesar stared at the photo of Zachary with Dolores and Cannon on the front porch.
"They will be ready in five." The secretary walked out and Caesar quickly put his phone back to his ear.
"Hey, I'll call you guys back later." Caesar said hurriedly getting off the phone.
"Ight be easy." Marcus said getting off the phone.
"Am I missing something?" Palmer asked.
Caesar shook his head.
He hadn't told anyone about his mothers side of the family and until he was sure he could keep them out of the scrutiny of the media he planned on keeping things they way they were.
"A lot but not really." He said and Palmer nodded before leaving it alone.
"I know you don't want to here it but Mila-" Palmer tried once more and Caesar cut him off.
"I told you don't tell me a word about her." Caesar said firmly and Palmer sighed.
"Fine." He said knowing it was best to leave it alone for the moment.
Palmer had tried to warn Caesar since he landed but he simply wouldn't let him.
He was sure Caesar would see it one way or another simply because the media was going to eventually spread whatever news that was related to him and Mila had simply garnered fame just by being his wife, although an ex.
"Mr.Martin and his acquaintances are ready." The secretary returned and Caesar stood up.
Palmer did the same but Caesar turned to him.
"I'll be back." Caesar said as Palmer nodded before sitting back down.
Caesar wasn't sure if this meeting would go unnoticed but he told himself while he was in town he would meet with all the labels, fairly and sober.
