"You can sit the boxes down there." Eden directed the movers.
Kamila looked at her as Yesica was trying her hardest to get King to come outside and play.
Eden glanced at her son and felt bad.
He missed Kold, just as much as she did.
He hadn't been himself in over a month and she couldn't blame him.
They were both navigating their lives without their anchor.
Eden's heart ached knowing that King would never experience another early morning or late night with his father.
She double mourned as she packed away her ultrasounds.
It didn't help Kold had preordered things. Packages for both King and their unborn had arrived. Eden couldn't even open the ones for her. She was sure it was something over the top, something that would make her miss him even more.
"Hey." Kamila said resting her hand on her shoulder.
"It's hard I know." She said looking at Eden.
"But I got you."Kamila said as Eden nodded.
Admittingly so, Kamila and Yesica had been there and Eden was grateful because, without Frankie and them, she was not sure if she would have made it after his funeral. It took some weeks to get their affairs in order but as Eden said she gave up their house.
That would be the last thing Pam would ever get and Eden was fine with it.
Kold's memories would haunt her in that mansion and she hoped deep down that they would do the same to Pam.
"Nooo." King said finally letting out a little laugh.
Eden turned and it felt like a fresh breath of air.
"See. It'll be good again." Kamila said and Eden shot her a look.
"Life won't be hard like that again." She tried to reassure her but Eden couldn't help but feel like her life was full of bad luck.
First her mother, her sister, she didn't even really know her father, and then Kold. She looked to King and even without any ounce of happiness left she felt a duty, a duty to be his mother, a good mother. As much as she wanted to give up his laugh seemed to remind her of the last good thing she had.
"Yea." Eden nodded her head and Kamila cleared her throat.
"If you want we can go out to eat?" She offered and Eden shook her head.
"We tried that the other day." She recalled and Kamila nodded.
She felt bad how they hounded King, it was all over the TV and in magazines.
Kamila nodded and thought it was best they changed the subject.
"Well, it is good I order tacos from Pedro and em. They are on the way." Yesica said chasing behind King.
Eden breathed in relief.
"It'll be okay." Kamila said and Eden nodded as she grabbed at another box and moved it into her room.
Things had changed in the three-bedroom home.
Eden took over what used to be her mom's room. King got her old room and Eve's room became a guest room. Most of were memories went into storage along with Kold's things. She had kept them initially but found herself sick to her stomach looking at things.
They turned to the knock at the door.
"And I am sure those are the tacos." Yesica ran past with King now chasing after her.
