chapter 10: soft

it was quite obvious kai's love language was physical touch, whenever she could she would always find a way for her hand to touch me or have me scooped up in her arms.

i guess it made sense, her job was to protect people and having me wrapped up in her arms was her way over protecting me, no one could hurt me while i was in her arms.

all of us expect kai were in the kitchen, she still hadn't woken up and we all decided to let her have a much needed lay in

i was stood with my back to the door, eating some toast with beth and lotte next to me while viv and leah were stood on the opposite side of the island

i felt someone wrap their arm around my neck, pulling me into their body.

i could smell her perfume already, and recognised her hoodie

i leaned back against her as her other hand went to my waist, holding onto it gently

i was only in some joggers and a cropped shirt so my stomach was bare

"morning" she said in a morning voice to all the girls

they all smiled back and said morning back, leah offering to make her some toast to which she rejected saying she wasn't hungry

"morning" she whispered to me as everyone else got into a separate conversation

i looked up at her, smiling and lifting my hand to her cheek, pulling her face closer to mine before pressing my lips against hers

"morning, how did you sleep?" i asked as we pulled away

"good" kai mumbled as she placed her head into my neck

i carried on eating my breakfast as kai basically hung off me, myself getting involved with the conversation the other girls were having while kai listened quietly

"so what we doing today?" i asked

"beach day?" leah suggested, looking outside to see it fairly warm

i nudged my shoulder to get kai's attention, she just hummed in response making the girls laugh

"you want to go to the beach?" i asked

she hummed again, nodding her head against my neck

i looked back at the girls, they all having soft looks on there face

"what" i laughed

"didn't think we'd ever see kai like this" leah said laughing

i looked back at kai before turning to the girls

"mmm me never" i teased kai, her response was squeezing my waist gently

"shall we get ready to go then" beth said, we all nodded and hummed before making our way to our bedrooms

kai followed me into mine, laying on my freshly made bed

"hey, don't mess it up" i said pointing my finger at her teasingly

kai held her hands up jokingly before telling me to go over to her

i walked over and laid on top of her, resting my head against her chest, heart beating fast again

"why is your heart always beating fast?" i asked with a soft laugh

"nervous" kai said shyly
