chapter 16: reassurance

"she's what?" leah asked shocked

i handed her the letter, not quite believing it myself.

i knew she was struggling but i didn't realise it was this bad.

maybe i should have pushed her a little bit more and not be so standoffish

"what the fuck" leah whispered as she finished reading the paper

"i need her leah, i've never felt this way about a girl before" i sighed as i put my head in my hands

leah came and sat next to me, placing her arm around my shoulder

"right i need you to think long and hard now" leah said

"think about anything that you could do to try and help her talk about her feelings or whatever is going on with her, that's how you win her back" leah said

"safe" i whispered after a while

"hm" leah said confused

"she said she didn't feel safe enough" i said standing up and turning to look at leah

"i know where she will be safe" i finally said getting the idea i should have had days ago

"where?" leah asked

"her family house, her family is her safe place and if i take her back to her family home she will be in a safe enough place" i said, grabbing my jacket and running out of the house, quickly getting into my car and driving to alessia's house...

"less open the door" i said as i knocked on her door

it took her a few minutes before she eventually did

"you can't be here" alessia's crooked out

"i can and i'm not going anywhere" i said

"kai just leave, i can't be dealing with this" she sighed, tears building up in her eyes

i pulled her into me, at first she tried to get away from me but eventually calmed down and accepted it

she hugged my body as she cried into my jumper

"you can't send my letters like that alessia" i whispered

"i don't know what to do anymore" she cried

"do you trust me?" i asked

i felt her nodded her head against my chest

"go pack a bag for a few nights and then meet me down here okay" i said as she gave me a confused look but agreed in the end

she eventually came down with a bag full of everything she needed and we made our way to my car, getting in it and driving back to my house

"no kai" less said as she placed a hand on my arm that was resting on the gear stick, seeing my house in the distance

"trust me less"i said softly looking over at her

she didn't look certain but agreed, slightly nodding her head

we pulled into the drive way, i told her i'd be a few minutes, running inside and quickly packing a bag for a few nights before running back out and hoping into the car and beginning the journey again...

"kai?" less said confused as we pulled into her family house

"you've struggled to fine your safe spot because i don't think you know where that is yet, it's just a suggestion it might be silly but i feel like this house might be the safe spot for you" i said as i looked down at my hands, nervous that she might actually find this all silly
