a two month trip away turned into two weeks away.

there's some things in life you never even wish on your worst enemy, and this was one of them.

i don't even think alessia knows i'm back home.

i haven't been home.

i've been in hospital...

————

alexandra and i were driving to our next destination, talking about anything and everything.

she was giving me a run down on her latest boyfriend and i was catching her up on alessia and i

everything was perfect, we were both working together fighting for our country.

until it wasn't.

i had gotten out of the car to go look at something on the side of the road, it looked like it was some military uniform while Alexandra stayed in the car.

i heard the dreaded sound of a bomb being dropped from the sky, looking up and realising it was going towards the car

i quickly duked for cover, hoping and praying that alexandra made it out alive.

i was foolish really, to think she would make it out alive.

————

so that's how i ended up back in england, sat by her bedside waiting patiently for her to wake up knowing inside of me it was truly impossible but holding onto that 1% in me that wasn't ready to let go off her

"duke, we think it will be best for you to leave, go home and freshen up and then come back in a few hours, this isn't good on your mental health" the doctor said as she came into the room

"but-" i said before being cut off

"we will call you if anything happens okay?" she said softly, i sighed but nodded my head, standing up and taking one last look at alexandra before leaving the hospital and catching a taxi home.

————

"kai?" leah's shocked voice said as she opened our front door

"yep" i said giving a tight lipped smile

she knew something was wrong, something seriously wrong.

i never, ever, come home from the military so i can imagine the massive red flags going off in her head.

"can i go up to my room please" i said as she nodded, still rightly so shocked, letting me walk past her and up to my room

i sat on the bed, the day repeating in my head like it had done every since it happened...

—————

'you need to come to my house now, kai is back' leah sent to me

i shoot up from my sofa , scrambling to get my shoes on before bursting out of my front door and making my way over to their house.

something bad, and i mean bad, has had to happen to say she's already back after only two weeks, 14 days...

"where is she?" i asked as i burst through their front door

"still having a shower, she's been in there for quite a while" leah sighed as she sat at the island

i nodded my head and made my way up to her bedroom that had her bathroom connected to it

this could either go horrible wrong or perfectly correct.

i opened her bathroom door, steam emptying out of the room
