It's been almost a month since we got married. The days have passed in a blur with having Heer by my side.

Everyday is an exciting day. Now she freely talks with me and shares her opinion. Her opening up to me is the best thing that could happen because she never does with anyone.

Aman - Can I pick you up from work today?

I send her a text.

She often visits her workplace to get some work done. Each time I ask her if I could pick her up. Because it still feels like I should get her permission to do something like that.

My little overthinker isn't used to act of services from others. She'll question everything before doing it and eventually end up overthinking so I make sure to ask her before doing something.

It's been an hour since I asked but she haven't replied to me yet. I send another text asking if she's okay but there's radio silence from the other side.

I call her but she isn't answering.

This won't work, I should go personally see if she's alright. I cancel my meetings scheduling them for another day and drive my car towards her main office.

The receptionist has a polite smile on her face and when she sees me her eyes widens, "Mr.Mehra?"

"Where's Heer?" I come direct to point.

"Heer?" She asks in confusion.

I scratch the bridge of my nose, "Nitya's her name." It feels weird calling her by her first name.

"Let me make a call sir." She says politely and makes a call to the main office. After listening for a while she hangs up.

"Nitya took a half day sir. She left early." She gives me a stiff smile.

My hackles raise immediately. Where did she go?

"Thank you." I hide my panic behind an easy smile and leave the place.

I try her phone again but she's not responding.

"Ma, is Heer home?" I ask calling her.

"No Aman. She's at work." Ma says in a matter of fact tone unknowing of the seriousness. I hang up without answering.

My heart threatens to buck off from my chest. Why isn't she answering her phone? Did she lost it? Or worse what if someone kidnapped her like Shivi was-
