"Now? But I didn't wear proper clothes!" I tell him. Nervousness and excitement brimming at going on a date with him.
"This will do. You'll look beautiful even if you're wearing a potato sack." He gives me a heated once over and my spine sends a pleasurable current to my brain.
I look at myself wearing a work appropriate saree which I bought before marriage but it's not that bad.
I sigh into the seat and steal a glance at Aman. His focus is on the road but I can see his lips twitching at my attention.
I am still 99 percent in shock that he asked me on a date. The great Aman Mehra asking a peasant like me for a real date is still unbelievable but I squish those thoughts of insecurity before it turns to worse.
"Wait. I have to send a text." He halts the car in the sideways and quickly fires off a text to someone then he starts to drive again.
I lean my head against the headrest and watch him while he drives.
Midnight black eyes, pointed nose, high cheekbones and lips that could rival a fashion model. How would it feel to kiss those lips. My mouth tingles at the thought.
I didn't know where this will lead us to but if there's someone I am willing to give a chance, then it will be this man.
He is the only person who can make me feel like I am on cloud nine with just one glance.
"I know I look handsome but what are you thinking?" He asks his eyes shining with mirth.
My cheeks heat and I clear my throat, "Just about where we are going."
"You'll see." He says in a mysterious tone.
We come to a stop infront of what looks like an expensive restaurant. Aman hands over the key to the valet and opens my side of the door.
I look at the grandiosity of the building. I look out of the place.
"I think... we should go somewhere else." I suggest awkwardly because I don't have any idea how to behave.
What if my shoes muddy the pristine tiles or what if I break a statue that looks like it must be maintained in a museum instead of keeping it in a restaurant?
"Don't worry. Just stay by my side." He holds my arms in his and leads me inside.
As we enter, I notice that there's nobody else except for us. It's only 7.00 in the evening. It's dinner time to most of the people but the tables are empty.
