She is Back

Today is my 18th birthday this is also the last birthday I will be celebrating here in Canada.

I don't really like throwing parties on my birthdays , all i want is a simple celebration together with my mom and dad .

Tomorrow is my flight back to the Philippines, I don't know what to feel , 'should I be excited or sad ?' I asked myself ,

"Colet , are you done packing?" I heard mom ask

"Yeah" I replied and went downstairs to help mom in the kitchen

"Ang bango Naman mom ano ni luluto mo" as I smelled the aroma of what mom is cooking

"I'm cooking adobo for dinner" I was so happy since we barely had Filipino food here "is dad joining us for dinner mom" I asked as I sat at the dinner table "no
Col he said may meeting pa daw sya"

we ate dinner in silence as usual , it has always been like this ever since the start , dad is busy with business and mom is busy at work and sometimes they don't get to go home so I end up eating alone and sometimes I don't.

After dinner I washed the dishes while mom was cleaning the table "Ikaw lang Muna uuwi col , is that ok?"

I stopped to look at her and she was serious "bakit , I thought we would go back to the Philippines together?" I was very upset but mom didn't care

"Me and your dad have to take care of things first" I understand

I mean mom is a doctor and dad is a business man so it is hard for them to adjust but I just turned 18 I don't know how to survive on my own "So I'm gonna live in a hella big mansion by myself

I finished washing the dishes and went to the living room "you're 18 , Kaya mo nayan" mom simply said while scrolling through her phone

"besides Jho is there , you know her right " she added

"Jho and I met when we were 5 mom" I rolled my eyes

"well I already booked your flight for tomorrow , don't worry you will go to the same school as Jho and here"

mom handed me a credit card with my name on it. I went to my room pissed off with mom how could she not tell me that I was going alone .

if I only knew about it then I wouldn't agree to go back to the Philippines in the first place "ughhh , I hate this" i whispered to myself .

I heard my phone notify so I opened it to check , it was a message from my friend chie

CHAT POV :

Chie : Hey I heard you're going back to the Philippines, is it true

: Yeah Why?

Chie : Are you coming back here in Canada?

: I don't know

Chie : I will miss you Colet

"Why does she even care" i turned my phone off and placed it next to me

I was staring at my ceiling for a very long time thinking about what will my life be in the Philippines 'will it be good or bad ? Will I have friends there or not?'

there were a lot of things going on in my mind and I couldn't sleep , I was rooling around my bed again and again until I dozed off.

I woke up to my alarm ringing "Ingay Naman" I turned it off and got out of my bed

I went to the bathroom to take a shower and changed my clothes "Colet , ma lalate ka sa flight mo , hurry up breakfast is ready"

parang sirang plaka talaga si mom , I sat at the dinning table and saw pancakes, waffle, bacon and eggs "kain na" I grabbed a plate and went to get some food

"are you sure na Ako lang uuwi mom?" I asked again

"yes , ang kulit mo naman" she sounded annoyed so I just laughed at her , after I ate I went to grab my stuff , mom and dad helped me Carry it to the car "is this all , ang kunti Naman" I placed my guitar in the car

"mag shopping nalang Ako dun dad"

I got in back seat of the car , dad is in the driver's seat while mom is in the passenger seat.

We arrived at the airport and to be honest I'm kinda nervous , I hugged my mom and dad for the last time and we bid our goodbyes .

This is the first time in my life to travel alone and I'm scared . The plane landed and I was in the Philippine airport waiting for my tita Beth

"Nicolette!" I heard someone shout and it was tita

"Tita Beth" I went to her "kamusta kana , ang laki laki mo na Colet ah"

I giggled and looked to see a girl behind her and for god's sake Akala ko si chie .

"oh btw this is jhoanna my daughter  you guys met before Diba" I shaked Jhoanna's hands and we got in the car .

I was sitting next to Jho and it was a very silent ride until we arrived at our house and boy was it big

"gosh alam ko Naman na it's a big house but I didn't expect it to be this big" I looked at the house and it almost made my jaw drop .

I heard Jhoanna laugh at my reaction"Dude Kaya mo ba mag isa dyan?" She asked while giggling

"I'll try my best" , we went inside and saw Gardiners , maids , and even a chef

"Good Morning Ms. Vergara"

everyone greeted me and I smiled at them in response "So ok kana Colet ?" I smiled "Yes po tita" tita nodded "Call me if you need anything ok" .
