Rey and Kriya, both dripping wet, hurriedly entered Kriya's apartment. The rain had soaked them to the bone, and the cool air of the apartment only made them shiver more.
'I-I'll go change into something dry,' Kriya stuttered, her voice shaking as much as her body. She wrapped her wet saree tighter around herself and scurried off to her bedroom, leaving Rey alone in the living room.
Rey watched her go, his gaze following her every movement. He couldn't help but appreciate the way her saree clung to her body, outlining her curves and accentuating her grace. He shook his head, trying to dispel the thoughts running through his mind.
'Get a grip, Rey,' he muttered to himself. 'She's your friend, not some girl you can ogle at.'
He decided to follow Kriya's lead and change into dry clothes himself. As he peeled off his wet shirt, he realized with a start that it had become see-through. He quickly grabbed a towel and wrapped it around his waist, grateful for the small mercy.
Just as he was about to head back to the living room, the lights went out.
'Kriya?' Rey called out, his voice laced with concern. 'Are you okay?'
There was no answer.
'Kriya?' he called out again, taking a few steps towards her bedroom.
Suddenly, he felt a hand on his arm.
'Rey,' Kriya's voice whispered in the darkness.
He turned towards her, and before he knew what was happening, she had wrapped her arms around him.
'I'm scared,' she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
Rey's heart swelled with emotion. He couldn't help but feel protective of Kriya, even if it was just in this moment.
He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close.
'It's okay,' he murmured, his lips brushing against her ear. 'I'm here. I won't let anything happen to you.'
As they stood there in the darkness, something shifted between them. Rey couldn't explain it, but he felt a pull towards Kriya, a magnetic force that he couldn't resist.
He leaned in, his lips finding hers in the darkness.
Kriya responded eagerly, her arms tightening around him as she deepened the kiss.
And in that moment, lost in the passionate ecstasy of their love making, Rey and Kriya forgot about everything else. The rain, the power cut, Kriya's mom's absence - none of it mattered.
All that mattered was the connection between them, a connection that had been building for years and had finally come to a head.
As they lay there, wrapped in each other's arms, Rey knew that nothing would ever be the same again. He had crossed a line, and there was no going back.
But he didn't care.
Because in that moment, he knew that he had found his soulmate. And he would do anything to keep her by his side.
