In the vibrant city of Mumbai, amidst the bustling streets and towering skyscrapers, a captivating story unfolded at Saint-Louis College. Rey, a charismatic and skilled dancer with a rebellious streak, and Kriya, a graceful and passionate dancer with a heart of gold, found themselves drawn to each other's infectious love for the art form.
However, fate seemed to have other plans, as Kriya's mother, Smriti, held a disapproving view of dancers. In her eyes, dancing was an activity that lacked dignity and respectability. On their first encounter, Smriti had witnessed Rey being arrested for causing damages to a club during a New Year's Eve party in Dehradun. This incident cemented her negative opinion of Rey, leading her to strictly forbid Kriya from pursuing her passion.
Undeterred, Kriya continued to dance in secret, finding solace and expression in her movements. Now, in their first year at Saint-Louis, she and Rey discovered their shared love for dance, along with a group of ten other equally talented and passionate individuals.
As the days turned into weeks, Rey and Kriya's friendship blossomed, based on their mutual respect for dance and their undeniable chemistry on the dance floor. However, Rey knew that winning over Smriti was crucial to their happiness.
One evening, Kriya invited all her friends for a casual dinner party at her apartment. It was the perfect opportunity for Rey to showcase his true self and express his feelings for Kriya. As the guests arrived, the atmosphere was filled with laughter and chatter. Smriti, initially hesitant, arrived with a skeptical expression.
'Welcome, everyone,' Kriya greeted her friends enthusiastically. 'I'm so glad you could make it.'
'Thank you for having us, Kriya,' Rey replied. 'It's a pleasure to be here.'
Smriti remained aloof, observing Rey with narrowed eyes. She couldn't shake off the memory of his rambunctious behavior in Dehradun.
'Your apartment is lovely, Kriya,' said Vishakha, one of Kriya's closest friends.
'Thank you,' Kriya replied. 'I'm glad you like it.'
As the evening progressed, the friends shared stories and indulged in a feast prepared by Kriya. The casual attire and relaxed atmosphere put everyone at ease, creating a sense of camaraderie and intimacy.
Rey, sensing the opportunity, approached Smriti cautiously.
'Ms. Ghai,' he began respectfully, 'I understand that you may have formed an unfavorable opinion of me based on our previous encounter. However, I want you to know that I am deeply sorry for my actions that night. I was young and irresponsible, and I regret my behavior immensely.'
Smriti listened in silence, her expression unyielding.
'I have changed since then, Ms. Ghai,' Rey continued. 'I have learned from my mistakes, and I am committed to being a responsible and respectful individual.'
'My concerns are not solely about your past behavior,' Smriti responded coldly. 'I have a fundamental belief that dancing is not a suitable pursuit for a young woman. It is a frivolous and potentially dangerous activity.'
'I understand your concerns, Ms. Ghai,' Rey said calmly. 'But I believe that dancing can be an incredibly empowering and transformative experience. It allows us to express ourselves, connect with others, and cultivate our creativity. I believe that Kriya has an exceptional talent, and I would be honored to help her develop it.'
Smriti shook her head disapprovingly. 'You may be skilled as a dancer, Mr. Singhania, but that does not change my opinion. I will not tolerate my daughter wasting her time on something as trivial as dancing.'
Rey's heart sank. He knew that it would be challenging to change Smriti's mind, but he was determined to try.
'I respect your opinion, Ms. Ghai,' he said, 'but I hope that you will reconsider. Dance is a passion for Kriya, and I believe that it can bring her immense joy and fulfillment.'
