Shinzō POV

After breakfast, both Sans and I worked on a new dimension box to seal away the save stars. We designed it into a gold lock-it-heart necklace that I would carry on my person at all times. Since I have to stay in our home when the kids here in the Empire. It is safer for them to stay with me than with my boys.

And as we were working two questions kept repeating in my head, why did I glitch when the kid was here? Is there a way to make it so I don't need to stay in our home when the kid is here? That's when Mincho came bursting into our lab with a book in hand.

"Hey, pops! Sans! I was just reading this book and I got a great idea for something cool ya both can make for us."

Mincho came running up to both of us with an enthusiastic expression on his face. I looked at the book Mincho was holding and remembered its stories and facts about kitsune.

"So ya know Kitsunes are trickster foxes from traditional Japanese folklore. They are a type of yōkai, a class of supernatural creatures with godlike powers, often equated to the English ghoul or demon. Kitsunes have many cool abilities one of these abilities is to turn their original fox bodies into a human form. I was wondering if there's a way ya both can make a magical item that can do the opposite by turning the physical forms we have now into foxes." Mincho said with big starry eye lights.

Both Sans and I chuckled and said we would come up with something after we finished working on the project we just started. Mincho ran out of the lab yelling in excitement to Papyrus to tell him the good news.

"Ha ha ah ha, between Papyrus and Mincho I think Mincho comes up with the craziest ideas," Sans said to me as he was having a laughing fit in his chair.

"I'll have to agree with you on that. But I must say Papyrus can be the sneakiest to get his ideas done without the person or monster knowing. I sometimes don't even realize it when he does it to me. I think that he's the most scariest out of the two sometimes." I said as a shiver went through my body.

"Agreed," Sans added with a shiver going through his body as well.

We both just continued working on the gold lock-it-heart for half a month, and when it was finally done, we wanted to test it out.

We went to the first location we believed a save star was at.

"Nhyy dad. Brother. Are you both sure this is safe?" Papyrus asked as we stood right in front of where we presumed the first save star was. I also noticed he started to twist nervously on his yellow scarf in worry.

"Don't worry, Papyrus, everything will be fine. I'm sure Pops and Sans wouldn't do something that was potentially dangerous for them and ourselves. Let's just have some faith in them." Mincho said as he hugged Papyrus to comfort him and stop him from maybe tearing his precious scarf.

When I noticed Papyrus calmed down I looked at Sans and nodded my head to signal him to begin. Sans then activated the locket and his Navy magic shined out from it and highlighted the area in front of him. The magic light that came from the locket would confirm a save star location. When the lock-it-heart confirmed a saving star was in its light, it would automatically store the star safely inside of itself.

After nothing happened when we stored away the first save star we continued searching around the empire for the rest. All in all, it was a good day. It was like a human holiday named Easter, but instead of having to hunt for eggs, we went on a hunt for save stars.

After we were done we spent the rest of our day relaxing in the Market Streets. We still had one more month until the human kid came back again. But as we were joking around I started thinking of the many possibilities that could happen. And I wanted to be more prepared for any outcome in case something ever happened. I have now witnessed the first genocide. If I had not been there to send the lotus flowers or protect my boys from the little demon, they could have died.

I never want my boys to experience being murdered or watching their brothers die. It was hard enough on them when they were only witnessing their alternate versions of their brothers turn to dust. I could not imagine how it would break them if they had to experience for themselves. I still didn't know if I might end up in the void like many other Gasters. If such a thing were to occur my boys would surely eventually perish against the demon child. From what I witnessed in that first battle the demon can be very determined to win against any overpowering force. And my boys are only mortal they need to rest and eat, unlike the demon child that gets rejuvenated every time it resets.

These thoughts kept yelling about the many bad possibilities and scenarios in my mind no matter how much I tried to push them away. I looked over at the smiling faces of my boys as we walked down the Market Street. They were just so happy even when they went through hell just two months ago in their fight against that demon child. And that's when all the other loud thoughts started to quiet down and one major one took their places.

(I am determined to protect my boys from any potential harm that could come against them. Even if I cannot be here by their side because there is a small possibility that I would be trapped in the void. I will make sure that the demon child will not be able to harm my boys in any way.) I thought to myself as I continued to watch my boys fooling around with each other.

Third person POV

Later, back at their home, Papyrus fell asleep on the couch with Sans in a small cuddle pile, and Mincho proceeded to join in. But Mincho didn't fall asleep because he knew something was bothering their dad. After they had finished collecting all the save stars their dad seemed to be in thought most of the day. And knowing their dad he wouldn't tell them if all three of them gained up on him. So Mincho had no choice but to let them sleep and had to trick Shinzō to get the information he wanted.

Then, when Shinzō believed his boys were asleep, Shinzō went straight to his lab. And that's when Mincho got out of the cuddle pile on the couch and followed him.
