**Mincho POV**

A whole year under Gaster's soul-altering regime! If I had a gold piece for every time we've been paraded before Emperor Asgore to judge some poor sap who looked at him funny, I'd have enough to buy us all tickets to anywhere-but-here. Like clockwork, it's trial by day, back to our luxury cage accommodations by night. Five-star imprisonment, really-the bars have this marvelous vintage rust patina.

But fortune winks at even the unluckiest skeletons! Our esteemed captor-the brilliant Dr. Workaholic Gaster-has been so obsessed with his precious Core project that he hasn't noticed our cage lock is more broken than his moral compass. Of course, we're still sporting those fashion-forward electric collars-the latest in underground torture chic. Nothing says "owned" like accessorizing with potential electrocution!

Then came my moment of accidental espionage! Gaster needed to scan my magical bone structure (how flattering-he notices my inner beauty), but my collar kept photobombing his medical snapshots. Solution? Drug me with Rohypnol! Little did he know, my magic makes me the world's worst date to roofie. I've perfected the "unconscious skeleton" act-eye lights off, body limp, Oscar-worthy performance that would make any acting coach weep tears of pride.

My brothers and I discovered this neat little trick where we can turn off our eye lights but still see-like playing dead while window shopping. As I lay there, "unconscious," Gaster revealed his secret safe hidden in the wall. The suspense was killing me! What treasures would the mad scientist hide? Love letters to Asgore? A diary of his feelings? Nope-just a remote with a little red button. When he pressed it, my collar popped off like a champagne cork at a freedom party!

Quick thinking time! Gaster was about to scan me, so I promptly put myself into a genuine nap before he could suspect anything. Post-scan, as he dragged me back to my cage (five-star service includes floor transportation), his phone buzzed with urgent Core business. While he was typing away furiously-probably arguing about proper safety protocols-I slipped a folded paper into the door lock. My brothers would be so proud!

After gaster got off the phone he finally continued to drag me back to the cage then threw me inside, Sans walked over and cradled my head in his lap while Papyrus rattled on about a puzzle book he'd discovered. Meanwhile, I was still pretending and bursting like a piñata full of secrets!

"(Bros! I need ta tell ya something; it's very important!)" I mind-linked them, practically vibrating with excitement. "(I'm so sorry, Papyrus, fer cuttin' yer conversation with Sans short. But I need ya two ta pretend ta fall asleep so I can tell ya. N don't show any reaction ta what I'm bout ta say. Okay, bros?)"

Papyrus, sweet innocent cinnamon roll that he is, forgave me instantly. "(Okay, Mincho. And I forgive you. You do seem excited about whatever you want to tell us.)" He pretended to drift off while still mumbling about puzzles. Sans just yawned dramatically-his version of subtle.

Once my brothers were "asleep," I spilled everything about the hidden safe and the magical collar-removing remote. It was like telling them I'd discovered chocolate in a world of broccoli.

"(We should escape,)" Sans declared through our mind link. "(The only reason we haven't tried before is because of these freakin' collars. But if what ya say is true, we'll make our move tonight. Gaster is done with makin' the core, n I don't want us ta be here when he's well-rested ta continue his work. I'd rather ain't be tested on again jus' so pops can make a freakin' clone army of us that will be used fer war.)"

Papyrus's thoughts lit up our link like fireworks. "(Oh, I can't wait. Brothers, I want to go to a place called a market so badly. I heard it has everything you would need there from monsters I've met on the battlefield. But you have to have G to buy stuff there.)" His excitement dimmed at the mention of money-the universal dream-killer.
