It was a long journey, or at least you felt that it was. What seemed to be seconds, it felt like hours. What seemed to be days, felt like years. But it wasn't just you that thought like that when it came to your healing, Dick and Jason felt that way too. However, they didn't rush it. They saw how far you had come to terms, in just a short amount of time. Though how they got you to speak to an online therapist... was really hard.
Having your laptop open as you sat on the couch looking away from the screen as the video call go on, was not how most people would like to enjoy their days.
"It's okay if you don't want to talk tonight. You made just a lot of leeway but just answering the call." Mrs. Burch said, a woman who dealt with therapy for Bruce and knew about the superhero background. She had also been a therapist for quite a few others too, Dick being another one he spoke to.
After about two minutes of silence you spoke. "It's very hard to answer a call." You managed to say. "Because when you are calling for help, and no one is around to hear you yelling or pleading, you just want to give up on talking or even answering them. Because they didn't answer you when you needed it most. So why answer a call when no one has answered yours?" You asked.
Mrs. Burch leaned back a little bit on the her office chair, to cross her legs and sit up straighter. "That's a very fair point." She spoke. "Do you think you know why you answer others, after how you felt like they treated you poorly?" She inquired to have you maybe elaborate since you have been an emotional rollercoaster.
Your only answer was silence at the moment. Honestly, you had no clue. Why would you do that?
"May I say something? A theory of why you may do it?" She asked.
You looked at the screen and gave a faint nod.
"I think you're trying to give a second chance. You are treating others how you wish you could have been treated, during those days that you needed help out of the asylum. You don't seem to be angry with Dick or Jason, but I think with Bruce a little bit."
You hugged your knees to your chest. "World's Greatest Detective, my ass." You managed to mumble loud enough. "Can manage to do a lot of shit in the world, solve so many encrypted problems, but overlooks the ones that are the closest to him."
"I can respect that." Mrs. Burch said. "He does seem to block out a lot at times."
You didn't speak for another five minutes after that, because you didn't know how much more you could take with opening up.
"Well I am glad that I got to see and speak with you (Y/N). You did wonderful today and I look forward to having our next session."
You ended the call and closed the laptop. Then you switched on the TV and had it on a low volume as you stared at it, as you laid down and let your legs relax by extending outwards once more.
Jason was on patrol for the night and Dick was having the night off since he had done a lot of hours at work. Besides, Jason said he could cover the patrol and Dick didn't doubt it. He came into the living room and placed his badge and keys in a little ceramic bowl on a little table.
Dick glanced at the TV. "Oh man I haven't watched South Park in a long time." He said then sat down in a chair near the couch.
"I don't know why, but I just turned this on for tonight."
"That's fine by me." Dick said with a shrug and a grin. "Pick out what you want."
You glanced over at him and asked a very odd question. "Was I ever missed when I was gone?"
