Monkeying Around (Beast Boy x Reader)

Being a zoologist had it's benefits but also cons. One thing that was a con was getting attached to the animals, then having to say goodbye to them. You adored spending times with the animals and you would have it no other way. There was this zookeeper that felt the same way. Garfield Logan, the funny zookeeper. The one who could bond perfectly with the animals.

You two were on a first name basis because it had been like 3 years that you two had been working together.

At this time you were bottle feeding two chimpanzees. They were only 2 months old and still depending on a mother figure, so you had been taking care of them since their mother kind of didn't grow fond of them. You even had to take these little ones home with you and it sure was a hassle. Think of it as toddlers that could grab almost anything. Garfield walked in. "I'm here." He announced.

The chimps perked up and one ran to him. He laughed and held the male chimp. "I missed you too Fellow." You laughed, because Garfield had named the baby chimps. One was named Fellow and the other was Mister. Garfield petted Fellow. "How have been they been?"

You smiled. "Good. Little trouble makers, but good."

"Say I'm not a trouble maker. I am just a baby." Garfield talked to both chimps.

You tossed him a bottle. "They just started on their bottles."

Garfield sat beside you to help you feed them. Mister took a break from his bottle and gave you a kiss. You giggled and gave the chimp a kiss too. Then he went back to his bottle.

"They sure love you." Garfield said.

You scoffed. "No it is you that they prefer. You are their favorite."

"Noted and true." Garfield said. He looked at me for a bit. "Hey I have been wanting to ask you something."

You looked up at him. "Okay."

"Would you go out on a date with me? We can bring the chimps with us." He asked.

You beamed and nodded. "Yeah. I would love that."

Garfield had picked a really nice park that was really for kids, but no kids really came around at this time. You two arrived at 4:00 and you spent time with him. The chimps were pretty obedient but they were still in some harnesses for precautions. You two had lunch, chatted for a while, talked about what career choices you had when you were very little, movies that you loved, movies that you hated, and how the world was different than it was when you two were younger.

"You have no clue how long I have been wanting to ask you out." Garfield said. He let you lean against him while the chimps were in your lap. "It took me forever to ask you, because I didn't know how a woman with so much intelligence, would want to date a zookeeper."

You looked up at him. "Garfield you are very intelligent and if you would have asked me earlier I would have said yes too."

He stroked your head while one arm was propping himself up. He leaned down. "Can I kiss you?"

You nodded and blushed.

Garfield kissed you and slowly pulled away. You were about to pull him back in for another when you two got kisses from different pairs of lips. The baby chimps had given you two kisses. You and Garfield laughed hysterically because that was one way to remember a date. It was a perfect date.

You were at home and you had just finished changing the diaper on Mister when your door busted open. A man pointed at you. "Secure the woman. I want those chimps. There are people waiting for their fur!" The guy was a poacher and you were scared.

"No!" You screamed. One man shot a dart and you jumped in front of it and held both baby chimps to protect them. Your back was towards the men because like hell you were going to let them grab those babies! You scrambled up and got out the backdoor of your home. You ran into the woods with holding both chimps. No time to be tripping over shit in the woods and no time for screaming. Though your sense of direction was warped and you were almost running in large circles, whatever they shot you with was taking affect. You heard a large thud and a green gorilla was there. He picked you and the chimps up and set you in a safe spot. Then he ran towards the men that were making their way closer to you. The gorilla roared and went after the men.
