Hey guys sorry for not writing very much. I had been struggling in school so I've been going to tutoring every morning and studying more. I finally got my grades up out of the danger zones, but I still need to keep in mind that this is college and not high school. So my writing might be a bit behind. I MIGHT, Keyword: MIGHT, do a chapter or something this weekend. The past few days at my vet tech school has been a bit of a hassle, we had small emergencies and drama, but still hanging in there.
Also if you are interested in becoming a vet tech, then I will give you this info:
· Always try to get help if you struggle, because this shit builds onto more stuff. If you struggle and try to move forward without any help then you are going to drown.
· No we do not get to play with animals all day. You will have to draw blood, give injections, learn what anatomy is what, clean up animal messes. And when I mean messes, I mean MESSES. Animals can have diarrhea too, and they can hold a lot in. We got the luxury of learning how to use toilets, they really don't.
· People are going to start rumors and not do their job, so you will have to step up.
· You always have to be on your toes. It is so easy for a Rx to be given to the wrong animal, or given the wrong dose.
· Animals can be reactive to other animals, meaning they might not like other animals. Be smart when it comes to this, because last thing you want is there to be a fight.
· You are going to hear animals cry, scream, over react, meow, bark, etc. And if you work with dogs, wear earplugs. I'm not joking, wear them. You can seriously lose hearing and it can progress into something worse.
· Don't think your scrubs and shoes will be clean all the time. Animals will probably pee on you, you'll get shit on your scrubs, blood, and so much more.
· Study. FUCKING STUDY UNLESS YOU WANT TO FAIL A TEST!
· Anything can happen. Emergencies pop out of no where and you can get hit with a bunch of drama.
· Listen to your teachers. I know we hate doing this at times, but seriously it helps at times.
