I woke up in the school clinic instead of the wonderful bed in the world of wonderland.
"... I knew it," I sigh, depressed. "It was just a dream..."
I had bruises all over my jaw, and I had a splitting headache that could only come from a concussion. Maybe a teacher found me and brought me here... maybe the trio got away. They always do. Alex, Knox, Stephen... the devils.
My bag and my jacket are on the foot of my bed. I look at my hands, no cat in them. I can't help it, I'm... I'm crying.
This is the only time they've ever made me cry like this. Good thing they aren't here. Oh, I still remember my dream of wonderland... Ace—well, Alex's dream version was actually a gentleman except for his pissy personality. If I could compare the King of Hearts to Alex in the real world, he looks like the nicest guy. That says something.
I went home with my head held down, trying to mask the bruises and the tears. I walked past the wall that Alex threw Meadow to, and I searched until nighttime. My cat wasn't there, not even a corpse.
I could murder a man.
But all I can do is kneel on the ground by the wall, the empty streets behind me, and weep. "I'm sorry, Meadow... I tried my best... maybe... (sniff), maybe if you hadn't met me, you'd still be alive somewhere. I shouldn't have taken you..."
I didn't even notice the passing car until it stopped behind me. Only then did I gasp and wipe my face rapidly, turning around to see doors opening and men coming outside.
Oh no. They were gonna kidnap—!
"Erin Santino," calls out the familiar voice of the Student Council bástard, Knox Sinclair.
Shít, I'd rather get kidnapped by human traffickers! When his bodyguards held my arms, I flailed and kicked them. "WHAT DO YOU WANT, LET ME GO!"
Knox rolled his windows up saying, "He's slippery boys, get him in."
"AHHH!" I felt electricity against my neck, and I was shoved into the car with my breath taken out of me after that shock. They duck-taped my hands, and I could only look at Knox as my vision faded in and out.
"What... do you... want from..."
"You?" He finishes, tilting his head to imitate me. "I don't want you. Alex does."
Erin was screaming so loud,
The King himself woke him up by shaking. "Erin! Erin, wake up!"
"NO! LET ME GO—! LET ME—!" He finally opens his eyes to see the red eyes of Ace, and he is so relieved they're not blue; so relieved, that he hugs Ace tightly while crying in his shoulder. "They took me! Knox kidnapped me, they took me!"
Ace's ears burn up and he looks at Knight for help. Erin is crying heavily on him and he doesn't know what to do. He looks at his old friend Knight, mouthing that Knox is his other counterpart, so how can he fix that? He awkwardly held the crying boy until Knight gestured for him to caress his back.
Ace awkwardly slides his hand down Erin's back like he is cleaning dirt off it, making Knight facepalm. The King asks, "Erin, what happened in your world?"
Erin's crying slowed down as he realized, "I'm in this dream again..."
Ace pulls him away so he can see his horrified face. "Erin, we told you. This isn't a dream. But, you're safe here..."
Red eyes... I've never been so happy to see red eyes. At the same time, Erin is a little flustered that Ace is this close to his face. This really felt real... he smells of eggs and tomatoes, kind of sweet. Erin never really got this close to Alex, so he couldn't see how nice his skin actually was. Do they have the same skin, the same nose? Alex never looked this handsome.
