Chapter Forty: Alice Out of Twisted Wonderland

"The crazies, they made me feel sane."

"Did missing me cause your brain to freeze up, Azure? Trying to kill the man you serve because he let me go? Well, Spade's not gonna get rid of me that easily." Cheshire created a steel pole out of his smoke, before appearing behind Azure and knocking out his legs with the pole. Cheshire then spins around it like the concubines told him too.

"Cheshire—!" The dog pounced on Rouge, now a giant wolf six times his size with giant teeth to protect his master.

"Good boy, hamster. Protect Spade!" Cheshire appeared and disappeared so fast, Azure wasn't able to react.

"The dog's name is Hamster—? Whatever!" Rouge's skin burned up at the sight of him. "You're not running away anymore, Cheshire."

"You're right... I'm done running." Cheshire smiles, embracing his scars as they made his grin even more terrifying.

Cheshire stood his ground, facing off against Azure and Rouge. The twin brothers moved with deadly precision, their attacks relentless. Azure is sick of him and hurled sharp ice shards at Cheshire, who dodged and deflected them with quick, agile movements. But as Rouge closed in with his flames, Cheshire began to struggle, slowly losing ground under their combined assault.

Just as it seemed the twins would overwhelm him, Lady Cat's voice rang out, strong and clear. "STAY AWAY FROM MY BROTHER!"

With fierce determination, Lady Cat jumped into the fight, blocking Rouge's next strike with giant flowers that broke through the ground, forcing him back. Her intervention gave Cheshire the strength to push back, and together they started to turn the tide against the twins.

Meanwhile, Spade stood at the edge of the battle, his hands hovering over Hamster who came to help him. Concentrating hard, he channeled his energy into the giant creature, who began to glow brighter with each passing second.

"Cat, we have to find Alice and Ace!" Knight yells at Lady Cat who's currently losing a fight against Rouge. He keeps burning her plants up.

"Go!" Cheshire yells, fighting off Azure and appearing beside Rouge to get him off Cat's back. "I'll be fine, go help Alice!"

"This is your chance to kill them, brother!" Cat yells at him.

"With pleasure..." Cheshire sneers as he creates spikes from his own smoke, Azure struggling to use ice to block them. Cheshire was ready to prove why he's the best Magician of his generation by stabbing Rouge with two spikes, the flames unable to melt them fast enough.

"ROUGE!"

As Cat and Knight run to find Alice, Cheshire suddenly caught off guard when Azure used dark magic to copy Spade's suppression and suppress Cheshire. "Ughh!"

"ENOUGH, Cheshire!" Azure's nose was bleeding badly, though. "Don't make me—"

Cheshire looked at him dead in the eye and expanded the spikes inside Rouge, his gargled blood heard by his own twin. "NO!"

An angry Azure lands his palm on Cheshire's heart, slowly freezing it. Though he was powerless to stop it, he still sadistically smiled at Azure, matching his scars.

"Without us, you're nothing. Only your body is useful Cheshire, your heart is worthless and your mind is mad. Your face destroyed, and nobody will ever want you but us!"

As Rouge tried to recover, Azure had enough and made the whole room snow while Rouge attacks Hamster, burning him up until he howled and disappeared.

"Now, Cheshire..." Azure dropped Cheshire, "Watch as Spade dies before your eyes."
