Chapter Ten: Cheshire in Wonderland

Cheshire is missing at the Tea party to celebrate Alice, but it's not like he wants to show his face there

Instead, he materializes onto a tree overlooking Spade's camp. Ausrine was an Arabian desert area with abundant oases, and that is where the Prince of Darkness was born. However, he exiled himself to the fiery islands of Crimson Caldera where an active volcano allows his Army of Cards to be extra deadly because they will be hot to the touch.

Cheshire decided to visit his Palace of Thorns has just finished his job in North Ausrine, but Crimson Caldera is right next to it. He's not supposed to be here, but it's not the first time he has come. A castle made of thorns is built in the middle of a moat; lava surrounds it, matching the red skies above. The bushes surrounding it are in eternal flames.

The King of Hearts did not tell him to come here. Cheshire has other plans.

Currently, he's staring at a man with honey-gold skin, in a blue suit currently freezing molten steel to produce stronger weapons for the army. His new Master, Spade, was incredibly powerful; rumored to be more powerful than the King of Hearts, despite the latter being handpicked by Alice to rule Wonderland.

Ace couldn't even fight against Spade. Cheshire got suspicious of why they just couldn't end this man behind the Army's back. Looks like Spade even needs help building his Army... the help of twin boys with opposite powers.

With his gloves removed, a touch from Azure can fully freeze the molten metal itself. But the more Azure uncovers his hands, the more oxygen around them freezes and suffocates everyone around them, so he has to contain it. A laughing Rouge with a deeper skin tone is behind him, keeping the place warm with his dancing fires.

"They loved you," Lady Caterpillar once said.

"No, they don't," Cheshire whispers to himself, vanishing in a cloud of smoke.

Long ago, Cheshire was rescued as a young kitten by two outcast twin boys. These boys claimed they didn't have Magic even when born to Magician parents. They still studied in the academy but were shunned and treated less. They had a few friends, but it was clear they were alone.

They found a dying kitten and gave it a chance in life, but as weeks go by the fur started shedding and revealing the human skin underneath. It was then they realized it was a Wonderland creature that was a human, but with animal characteristics. An example would be Rabbit, named after the animal he looks like.

"Azure look, he can disappear! Like smoke!"

"His name should be Smokey."

"No way." Rouge was petting a very happily smiling kitten and even rubbing its ears. "I have a better name..."

Azure and Rouge raised the kitten as it grew very fast, to the rate of a normal cat. By one-year-old, it was the same age as them. A smiley magical cat; they named him Cheshire.

The twins watched as Cheshire became discovered by the Academy and was soon accepted to be a Magician thanks to his smoke and mirrors specialty that allows him to vanish, float, and give the illusion of teleporting through these abilities.

Not only that, but Cheshire grew to be a model student with the most adorable of looks. Girls would flock to him and even men started to have crushes on him. He'd receive confessions, but he didn't know what they were yet. Besides, the twins always stuck to him... they made sure anyone who came near gets a smiling glare that threatened their life.

"Nobody but us," the twins said to a girl they cornered, screaming because both men had fire and ice in their eyes. They were found the next day petrified in fear, and the Academy couldn't trace the Dark Magic to the "nonmagical" twins.
