Chapter Twenty Five: Alice in Paradise

Living in this mansion doesn't come with full luxuries.

I'm about to start school again, but the previous days I've been home studying. I feel awful staying in my room like I'm sort of a Princess, which I'm not in this world, so I tend to help out the employees. Particularly, taking care of Lady Montgomery.

She enjoyed me cleaning her room, and though Alex protested to me looking like a bandaged Cinderella pre-ball and acting like a maid, taking care of his mother is the least I can do for everything he has done for me. I won't say that of course, I cursed him out.

My burns are healing well... some still clotting, but I'd like to imagine them as the roses that they look like in Wonderland. While holding the outdoor broom and sweeping the garden path, I giggle to myself and start to step to the side, the back, and soon swing and spin around imagining myself dancing with Ace.

"Hehe," I laugh to myself alone, before going back to sweeping the leaves together. Didn't stop me from spinning around, though. "I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream..."

Oh, they have carnation flowers! Wonderland has bigger ones, but I obeyed my impulsive thoughts and plucked a pink one off the bushes. They look perfect... this garden is well taken care of—

"What did I say about you doing the maids' jobs?"

I jump and turn around, dropping the flower. "Ace—ugh, Alex, you scared me!"

He looks annoyed, still. "You're not supposed to be working. Where's Meadow, huh? You're gonna neglect your child?"

What is it with me being intimidated for once? Is it because Ace and I were so intimate and I'm faced with my bully who looks like that handsome King?!

"Get over it, I'm bored! And Meadow's asleep, she's not a clingy brat like you." I turn around and continue sweeping the leaves into one big pile, before marching over to the pan to put it all in a sack. "I-I'm used to working okay, I've lived alone for years and couldn't afford a nanny unlike some people here..."

"Don't you ever have time to come to the Halloween party with me?" I feel Alex behind me so I turned around, only to greeted by the pink Carnation I dropped earlier. "You didn't come to school so you didn't see all the preparations. Knox was actually quite busy these days because of it."

"Wha—"

He suddenly pushes my hair behind my ear and pins the flower there. "If I can't force you to like me, I can force you to go with me, right? Since you... work here... I'm the young master, right? You have to please me."

"Uhm..." Oh no, I'm finding it hard to differentiate Ace and Alex now! Their eyes are the same but this guy is also making me heart—

"Or are you going with your boyfriend, hmm?" This blonde maniac suddenly takes my chin and lifts it to face him, giving Alex the view of my wide and shocked brown eyes. "So which one is it?"

I blush intensely, remembering what Ace and I did in Wonderland—stop, Alice! I mean... Erin... gosh, I'm starting to forget my name too...

I may have panicked in a homosexual manner. "I don't have a costume—"

"You're friends with my mother, she has all kinds of costumes that'll fit you. Come on, I cook you breakfast every day. Do this for me."

I can't... I can't resist this Prince... his touch is similar to Ace, his personality merging deeper and deeper... "F-fine... but on one condition! Nobody has to recognize me... I don't like amplifying the rumors."

"Rumors of what?" He tilts his head like a dog.

"Of—!" I pull my head away because I'm really burning up. "Of us being together!"
