Chapter Twelve: Cheshire in Purgatory

Erin woke up in his usual bedroom with heavy breaths, holding his rapidly beating heart.

But this time he is alone. Much to his disappointment. He was really hoping Ace would be here and they'd fight over something stupid again. But, Knight told the King to give him space after their fight last night. Because of no one nagging him, Erin wants to sleep for more, but he cannot, for there is a waffle on a tray, with blueberries and syrup. "Huh? I thought..."

"I don't allow eating in this bedroom."

"Okay, hypocrite..." he mocks the past Ace as he chows down on the waffles. So delicious. The butter has zero preservatives...

There was a King of Hearts card on the tray, and when Erin flipped it over there was a note. I hope you like it... I made it. Eat it immedietly after waking up.

Though Erin's little feets are kicking and swinging in happiness, he still giggles, "He still can't spell immediately even in this world..."

Later on, a white snake slithered into the Master bedroom and heard humming in the bath. She's here... Master, she's here... I found Alice!

Waiting for Alice on one of the bed posts, the white snake waited patiently until the bathroom door opened. In a towel was... a male.

"???" Where's Alice? Internally, the snake blushed and looked away awkwardly. It's a man here, half-naked...

The snake was so confused and shocked that it didn't get to hide, and Erin saw it while drying his hair. "You!"

Oh, no... Master, I was caught... run away!

The startled snake tried toxx slither away, but Erin happily caught it in his hands. "You're alive... you found me! Haha, what a cute thing..."

The white snake was caught by a smiling boy whose face resembled a more mature Alice. Things get worse for the snake when the door opens to reveal King Ace and Knight, the latter carrying an outfit for the Queen.

"Finally, you're awake..." A nervous Ace says, and Erin's mood soured remembering their argument last night. "Listen... Knight forced me to apo—"

His friend elbowed him. "Apologize on your own terms."

Sighing, the reluctant yet guilt-driven Ace says, "I'm sorry... for kissing you."

Hmph, Erin still acted mad, so Knox crossed his arms, "Go on, my lord..."

"... and yelling at you," the King says like a forced child. He looks towards Knight who seems unsatisfied with the apology, waiting for him to fix the situation as he always does. Knight is unsatisfied, but Erin is the most disappointed at the forced apology.

"Hmph!" Erin holds the snake against his chest as he stubbornly turns away. "You stole my first kiss..."

"I did?"

"He did?" Knight glared at him. "You did?"

"I did," Ace admits to Knight, before taking a step towards a pissed Erin. "Uhh... forgive me, for... that. Even if I didn't really regret it—"

"Ace!" Knight is this close to slapping a dense King on the head. Erin secretly glances at him thinking, He didn't regret it?

"Sorry! Do you... w-want a banana or something?"

As Knight facepalmed, Erin says, "I want you to get out, please."

"No, you're my bride and we have to go out together. It's over and done with anyway, it's not like you can get your first kiss ba—"
