Note: There is a list of all magicians' born abilities and secondary (learned) abilities at the end.
Meanwhile, in Wonderland where the dessert was not dry, and the flames weren't hot, Erin was dressed in comfortable Arabic clothes with a saree draping over his shoulder to represent his status.
"You're very pretty," the girls said while they escort him.
"Your moles look like constellations, wow!"
"Could I draw beauty marks on myself as well?" Erin can't help but smile in flattery at the women who is genuinely fawning at what he thinks were his flaws. And these were gorgeous girls, so the compliments mean something.
He is taken by a few concubines to meet Spade, who has sitting Cheshire on his lap.
"There he is, our Queen... I have business with him, so you may go and rest, Kitty." Cheshire hops off his lap and, with the tattoos on his wrists suppressing his powers, bows before leaving without a word.
The power of suppression, Erin thinks, Spade's secondary power. No magician could use their powers with Spade's suppression.
"I believe Ace and Knight taught you how to dance," Spade removed himself from the throne and summons thousands of birds from his collarbone tattoo, "Shall I teach my bride how to fight?"
The birds combined to create a man made out of dark feathers, challenging Erin.
"And why do this?" Erin asks, catching the metal sword Spade threw at him. It was heavy, the tip fell to the ground.
"I was once swallowed by the Jabberwocky... and Alice, as powerless as she was, slit the dragon's throat to free me. With that blade..." Spade points at the steel in Erin's hand, heavy yet held by a 12 year old girl once. "The Sword."
"What..." this heavy thing... owned by a 12 year old girl?
"It get its strength from your own will. The stronger your will, the lighter it becomes. You don't believe in yourself, do you Erin?" Spade says.
Erin decides to pick up the blade and swings it to the man made of birds, slicing him in half but the birds made him whole again. It was like swinging a chair on a chain. "I believe in myself... I just don't believe I really am Alice..."
"Why not?" Erin swung again, heavily. The birdman was beheaded, returned whole, and attacked Erin to the ground. The birdman manifests an axe made of feathers, and slams it towards him.
"I'm... not Alice...!" He rolled to dodge the birdman's Axe which left a mark on the stone floor. His eyes widened when he saw those feathers can actually hurt. "This sword... is too heavy..."
Spade tells him, "When they're swinging from their head, you'll likely die from their blade. But that position is the most impractical, difficult to reposition; you should put your blade across your body, and throw their weapon up. It takes them time to recover, and that's when you strike."
"AHH!" All Erin is doing is dodging and ducking, almost getting hit if not for the sword blocking the axe. "I don't know how to—!"
"You are Alice, it's in your muscle memory!" Spade yells at him, commanding the birds to go even harsher.
"Ahh!" Erin was knocked to the ground, and the birdman swung his axe downward.
"Alice, swing harder!" A young man's voice yells, the voice of an 11 year old Spade. Maybe it's the memories of the past, but Erin realizes Spade was the one who taught Alice how to wield the sword.
"Alice, you can't kill no dragon with those noodle arms!" The boys laugh, "Come on!"
"Alice!" Spade calls out the name in the present day, and Erin puts the blade across his body to block the axe. "Do you not know who you are, Alice?"
