Chapter Thirty-Eight: The Wedding

Knight appeared before the Kingdom of Crimson Caldera with enough heat protection to walk through the flaming gates. He watches the people dance and celebrate the wedding of their King to the Queen of Wonderland. It is an image of the Garden of Hell, but seemingly more lively than the White Palace.

Here, people don't conform to dress codes. Here, the servants can dance with the masters and some concubines are freely able to meet their at-home partners. For a selfish King, Spade never treated his people less than himself.

Speaking of,

"Smells like marble and flowers," chuckles someone that made the air thinner in his presence. A cold Azure appeared behind Knight as the fierce Rouge followed with, "What's a little Archangel doing in our hell...? Don't you know you're not welcomed here...? Hehe... do I need to heat things up...?"

Knight knows these boys. They were Cheshire's assistants who only pretended to have no magic, in order to hide their powers from the Academy. Knight confidently tells them, "I have something to return to your King."

"Spade isn't our King..." Rouge spits out, "His heart is too soft to rule Wonderland."

"Ahh yes, it was you two who destroyed the Academy, not Spade..." Knight credits them, "But why are you still working for him?"

"Because he will destroy you, and all those in the White Palace..." Azure answers with a scoff, "Or at least... we will, if he doesn't."

"You two may be powerful, but against Ace or Spade, not even a hundred of you will succeed," Knight tells them. "Now. Let me see the King."

Azure inspects him, and signals Rouge to bring him to Spade.

Knight's eyes softens at the sight of his old friend, currently getting painted on by henna by his concubines. Spade's smile though, disappeared at the sight of Knight. Is he here to disrupt the event? To kill him or his subjects?

"Knight..." Spade trusts him, though. "Since the twins let you in, I suppose you don't bear any ill will?"

Knight sighs, reaching into his coat. The girls panicked and even the twins are high alert, only Spade is calm enough to watch him pull a white snake asleep in his coat. Spade's animals made so much noise as their creator opens his hand.

Boa immediately woke up, and looked at the man holding her. Knight had drugged her with one of Lady Cat's poison, and she thought he was going to kill her. But he had stolen her from the White Palace to bring her home, just like Knight promised in exchange for Cheshire's return.

"Master!" The snake crawled to his feet and up his legs, crawling around his waist and smiling at her creator.

"You have returned... unharmed?"

"I don't care..." she cried, "I'm so happy. I'm here now... but..." she looked towards Knight, "... will I see him again?"

"Who?" Spade questions. Boa was a little afraid to tell him she fell in love, so she cowered a bit.

Knight, who knew what she was talking about, tells her, "You will see him again, Boa."

"Boa?"

Knight chuckles, "Alice named her Boa. She was his pet for a little while... never left her side except when she was caught. Still, Alice never saw Boa as a traitor. Only as a friend. Now your master is going to marry Alice."

"Really?! I'm so happy! Finally... master will be happy, too." Boa looks at Spade with a small smile on her tiny white head. Spade wants her to rest, so she closes her eyes and returns to her siblings as ink.
