It is now September, and eight months have passed since Ana and Bella came to Forks Washington. It was a carousel of emotions for Ana. She was currently lying in her bed looking at the ceiling, studying the image of the sun above her. Today is her nineteenth and Bella's eighteenth birthday. Yes, the girls share a date of birth. Bella was born exactly one year after Ana.
Every year so far the girls spent their birthday together with their friends. But this year will be different. Ana plans to spend the day with her father, and in the evening she will go to La Push and have bonfire with her friends. And Bella will spend her birthday with the Cullen family.
That's right, Bella has a boyfriend. Edward Cullen. It's not that Ana hates him, but there's something strange about him and his whole family. They were all adopted by Carlise and Esme Cullen. There are five of them in total. Edward, who is dating Bella, Jasper, Alice, Rosalie and Emmett. Jasper and Alice date as well as Rosalie and Emmett.
They're all a little weird. It's like they're constantly on edge. Ana cannot deny that they are all abnormally beautiful. It's almost as if they're unreal. And yet at the same time, something about them repels her. She never even tried to talk to them, and neither did they with her. She thought that Bella would at least introduce her to Edward since he is her boyfriend, but when Ana mentioned it to Bella, she would always find some excuse for not to meet him. It's almost as if she's hiding him from everyone.
It didn't bother Ana at all that she doesn't have any relationship with her sister's boyfriend, she doesn't like him anyway, but it bothered her that her relationship with Bella is now almost non-existent.
You see, the moment Bella saw the Cullen family she became obsessed with them. When Ana told Bella that, they had a huge fight, they didn't even talk for a while. The obsession grew the day Edward saved Bella from being hit by a truck in the school parking lot. Although Ana is grateful, she still finds Edward strange and dislikes him.
Not long after that, the two started dating and acting as if no one existed around them. Bella doesn't even notice their father anymore, and even when they spend time together as a family, it seems like Bella can't wait to get away and be with Edward.
Ana loves being with Charlie, the moments she spends with him are very dear to her. They often invite Jake and Billy over for dinner and watch the game together. These are special moments for Ana. Her sister is almost never with them, and if she is, she quickly retreats to her room with the excuse that she has a lot of homework.
What hurt Anna the most was the incident that happened when Bella went to play baseball with the Cullens.
One day Bella announced to Charlie and Ana that she was going out with Edward and that she would introduce him to them and that he would come pick her up at any moment. She even threatened them to be nice to him because he is very important to her.
Ana and Charlie behaved as they promised. Edward was naturally awkward throughout the introduction. He shook hands with Charlie but did not look at Ana once. It's not that he hurt her because he ignored her existence, but come on dude..
While he was standing in their house, Ana thought that he looked like he was constipated and at that moment she saw a small smile on his face.
Later that evening, Charlie and Ana were watching TV alone when suddenly Bella stormed into the house angrily. She yelled at Edward to leave her alone and ran to her room. Charlie followed her to see what was going on.
Ana remained sitting on the couch and waited to see what would happen. She heard the raised voices of her sister and father. When they went down to the living room, Bella yelled at Charlie that she didn't want to be here anymore and be stuck like their mom. She left with a handbag in which she packed her belongings and slammed the door, leaving behind a heartbroken Charlie and a confused and angry Ana.
