REDHEAD AND HIKING WITH BELLA

Ana was worried. It was past midnight and the boys haven't returned yet. She thought of going to Billy's house to see what was going on, but she knew it was dangerous and Paul would go crazy if he saw her there. So she stayed with Emily, and the two of them were worried together.

"What do you think is going on? Why have they been gone this long?" Ana asked tiredly

Emily breathed out "I really don't know. When Embry shifted it didn't take this long."

Ana furrowed her brows "Maybe Jake has a control problem. Embry is pretty calm, like he doesn't have an anger problem."

"Yeah, he's the calmest of them so far. Paul was the worst, just gave him the wrong look and he immediately shifted. But since you came into his life, it's like he's a different person." Emily smiled at Ana

Ana smiled "Yeah, I've heard about his anger problem but the funniest thing is I've never felt his anger on me."

Ana realized what she said and gave Emily an apologetic look "Sorry Emily, I wasn't thinking."

Emily smiled slightly "It's okay Ana. I don't mind, this scar is a part of me now and a reminder that it's very dangerous to be around a new shifter. That's why Sam doesn't let them hang out with their friends and to go to school. You never know when they can get angry and hurt someone."

"It makes sense. It's a shame people look at the boys as if they're part of a cult and drug dealers when in reality they're keeping them safe from the leeches." Ana spat out the word leeches.

Emily burst out laughing. Ana was confused, she looked at her strangely and raised her eyebrows "What's so funny?" she started laughing herself.

"Oh my god, Ana you spend too much time with Paul. You even spat out the 'leeches' bitterly." Emily said with a laugh.

"Well they drink blood, it's appropriate." Ana laughed.

When they calmed down, they sat for a while in silence. Both in their thoughts and worried. Ana was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't hear the loud boys on the porch as they usually were, and when Embry suddenly opened the door and greeted them loudly, Ana screamed and jumped from her chair.

Paul pushed Embry out of the way and was next to Ana in a second. He looked at her for injuries, but saw that physically everything was fine.

"Ana baby, what happened?" he cupped her cheeks.

"Nothing, calm down. I was just lost in my thoughts and didn't hear you and when Embry ran in I got scared." her heart was still beating fast.

Paul turned to Embry "Why did you scared her like that?" he furrowed his brows.

Embry's eyes widened "Dude, I didn't.."
