It was the day before the battle. Ana and the other imprints are in Sam and Emily's house. Two days earlier, they all met together and came up with a plan that Ana, Emily, Kim and Veronica would be together in one place and they decided that it would be at Emily and Sam's. Even little Claire is with them. Quil begged Emily to bring her there. Sam agreed with him that it would be the safest.
Two new shapeshifters will stay with the girls, who shifted a week before they found out about the battle. Collin and Brady who shifted at only thirteen years old, making them the youngest so far. Ana was a little worried, because after all they are so young and don't have much experience in this new life, but the two of them seem determined and willing to protect the imprints. Regardless of the fact that they are so young, they take their task very seriously. Ana just hopes that everything will be fine and that Collin and Brady will not have to face the vampires in any way.
And yes, Veronica is with them. Jake told her about shapeshifters and that the legends were true the day after she was at Ana's. He was too afraid for her safety, so he sped up the confession a little. Veronica was in a slight shock, but in the end she accepted everything very well, considering that everything was revealed to her in such a short time. She knows that Jake imprints on her sister as well, who is still hospitalized, and this is something that no one still understands how this is possible. But right now the most important thing for them is that everything goes well in the battle and they left the discussion of that issue for later.
Jake feels a connection with Veronica, it's different than with Samantha. This time he felt what the imprinted wolves told him about. Everything is clearer to him now and Samantha is like a sister to him, he cares about her safety. But Veronica is something else entirely. When Ana asked him about how he felt and what he was thinking, he told her that Veronica was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen in his life, that she is smart, kind and everything he didn't even know he needed. Jake seems happier, lighter, and his eyes have a glow that no one has seen in him for a long time.
Billy and Charlie are on a fishing trip. That Charlie was shocked when he heard about the battle is an understatement. He was afraid for Bella and Ana, but he couldn't show Bella in any way that he knew what was going on. He reluctantly went fishing, but it is also clear to him that it is safest for him and Billy to get as far away from the battle as they can.
Everyone gathered for a dinner prepared by the girls, so they could spend some time together before leaving. No one wanted to say it out loud, but the fact is that there is a possibility that for some of them it will be the last time they will be present. Someone could lose their life and that is the worst thing that can happen.
"Do you need help with anything?" Sam asked Ana and Emily who were finishing lunch in the kitchen
Ana smiled at him "No Sam. Go sit with the boys and relax."
