September passed quickly. Ana spent time with her father and almost every day she went to the La Push to spend time with Jake, Embry and Quil. She also spent a lot of time with Paul. They were getting closer every day. And every day Ana discovered something new and interesting about him. He has become very close to her heart in this time that she has known him. Ana has developed feelings for him and now she is just waiting for him to ask her out on a date. She never asked him about his man whoring ways, she didn't feel the need to mention it. He has never shown any signs of leading that kind of lifestyle, at least not anymore. She also never mentioned the thing Jared slipped up about the imprint.
Paul, Sam and Jared were acting very suspicious. They were always shirtless, even though it was cold. Ana noticed that they have a very high pain tolerance, and they would always whisper about something. When she hung out with them, one of them would always suddenly disappear and when she asked about it, the excuse would always be that he had some work to do. And she could swear they could hear it from miles away. It was all very strange to her, but despite everything she still felt safe with them and trusted them without a second thought. She was suspicious about it all and had an idea of what they were hiding, but she never wanted to say it out loud, she would probably be locked up in a mental institution. After all, that can't be true, it's impossible. And so she didn't mention anything to anyone.
October came, and Ana was worried about Bella. She didn't come out of her bedroom at all, she didn't take a showers anymore and every day she was sinking more and more into herself. She said that her life has no meaning since Edward left. Ana tried to cheer Bell up and give her support, but she showed no will to recover. She became more and more mean to Ana every day. She blamed her for all the misfortunes in her life. And so Ana slowly slipped away from Bella. There was nothing more she could do for her.
Ana didn't sleep at night cause Bella was screaming because of the nightmares she has. Charlie was running out of strength too, but there was little he could do, Bella didn't want to get better. When she wasn't totally tired and exhausted, Ana went to La Push to hang out with her friends. All of them noticed a change in Ana, she slowly lost her cheerfulness and became more and more irritable. Due to the lack of sleep, and care for her sister, Ana slowly changed. Paul was worried about her and tried to talk to her, but every time she brushed him off and said that everything was fine and that he didn't need to worry about her. She would often snap at him, not only at him but at everyone. After that, she would feel bad and apologize. And Ana knew that she was slowly losing herself, but what could she do? She is so exhausted that sometimes she can barely keep her eyes open.
Charlie had to intervene and he sent her to sleep over at Billy's on the weekends. Billy of course agreed and gladly accepted Ana into his home. That seems to have helped a lot. She was slowly coming to herself. And spending time with Paul helped a lot. Often when they spent time at the beach, in the woods, or at Sam's place, she would curl up in his arms and fall asleep. With him she felt at peace. Paul was very worried about Ana. She neglected herself because of her stupid sister who didn't care about anyone. If he could, he would take her somewhere far away from all the crap she's going through. He understands that Ana loves and cares for her sister, but how far can her selfishness go. Doesn't she see that she is disrupting the lives of everyone around her. He will do everything in his power to make it easier for Ana. No matter what.
