The next day Charlie joined Ana and Paul for lunch, which Ana made for them. They sat at the kitchen table and had lunch in a pleasant atmosphere. Although Charlie stirred a little in his seat, as if he had something to say to them, but didn't want to, or didn't know how to say it.
When Ana had enough of Charlie's strange behavior, she dropped her fork into the plate with a loud thump "All right!" she looked at her father "What's going on dad? You're behaving strangely."
Charlie looked at her a little alarmed "What?"
"You're not acting like yourself, you're fidgeting in your seat and I have a feeling you're not telling us something." Ana told him, looking at him with a pointed look and raised eyebrows, to which Charlie let out a big breath.
"You're right. I have something to tell you, specifically you." he pointed his finger at Ana
She gestured with her hand "Tell me."
"Well.." Charlie let out another breath "Bella, she um..is graduating next week and she wanted me to tell you that she would love it if you came to her graduation party."
"Dad.." Ana began harshly
"I know Little wolf, I know." Charlie interrupted her "I didn't come to talk you into going, but I promised Bella I'd pass on what she told me. And she seemed kind of sad, like she really wanted you to attend the party."
"She's not sad," she rolled her eyes, "She's just a good actress."
"Maybe you.."
"No! It's out of the question! I'm not going to that party of hers, I'm never going to anything associated with her, I don't ever want to have anything to do with her or anything in her life!" Ana's mood begins to change to gloomy.
"Okay." Charlie nodded "I understand, and I don't want you to go if you're going to feel bad, especially since the party will be at the Cullens."
Paul snorted "As if I would let Ana go there, not happening!"
Charlie narrowed his eyes at Paul "Don't talk like that, you have no right to allow or not allow her. She is her own person and is capable of making decisions for herself!"
Paul looked at him with wide eyes "I didn't.."
"Relax Dad." Ana interjected "He's not telling me what to do. He knows how I feel about Bella and the Cullens, he's just worried, that's all."
"Besides.." she pointed her finger at Paul as she looked at Charlie "You really think he would do anything to hurt me? You think he's someone who would control my life?"
Charlie grumbled "I don't think that.."
"Good!" said Ana "I don't want to go anyway, and he knows that, that's why he said that."
