The morning came too quickly for Ana. She snuggled under the blanket and enjoyed the warmth of her bed. She was too lazy to get up, until she remembered that she had a date with Paul today.
She opened her eyes wide and literally jumped out of bed and went about her morning routine with a smile on her face.
By the time she went downstairs, Charlie had already left for work. He left her fresh coffee in the pot and some pancakes for breakfast. She appreciates these small gestures that her father makes for her, it means that he thinks of her and that he cares about her.
Of course, Bella was in her room and didn't come out. Ana fought the urge to run to Bella's bedroom and share her happiness with her. She knows Bella wouldn't be happy for her, she showed her that last night. How did the two of them come to that? The old Bella would support Ana and be happy with her, but this new Bella would probably just pick a fight. Bella is depressed because her vampire boyfriend left her and Ana understands her pain and sadness. But she can't understand why she blames her for his departure. Ana was never rude to him, she simply ignored his existence, as he ignored hers.
After drinking coffee and eating breakfast, she decided to clean the house a bit. She started with cleaning the kitchen and then moved to the living room. She dusted and tidied up the mess a bit. She switched to doing laundry and cleaning her room. When she was done with that she cleaned the bathroom. The time passed quickly and Charlie will come home from work in a little while. She started preparing lunch. She decided to make pasta with meatballs and garlic bread. Simple and delicious.
Just as lunch was finished, Charlie came home.
"Hey dad, you came just in time, lunch is ready." she smiled at her father and kissed him on the cheek.
He gave her a kiss on the forehead "What did you cook? It smells great."
She was setting the table
"Pasta with meatballs and I baked garlic bread. It's still hot. And it smells divine." she closed her eyes and smelled the air.
"Everything you cook smells divine. You should be a chef, your food is always delicious."
Before they sat down at the table, Charlie went into the room to change and invite Bella to have lunch with them. He came back without Bella.
"She doesn't want to have lunch?" Ana asked
"She says she's not hungry." Charlie breathed out
While eating, they made small talk about everything and nothing.
At one point, Charlie asked Ana, "Have you decided what you want to do in life?"
Ana breathed out "I don't know what I want to do tomorrow let alone what I want to do for the rest of my life. I really don't know. The only thing I know is that I don't want to leave Forks. I'm finally happy and content with my life and I don't intend to move out of here after I waited so long to return."
