"Are you okay Briana? That was a hard fall." I commented. Briana jumped up with slightly messy hair. "I'm fine." She said as she made her way to her full length mirror to fix her hair.
Ding Dong!
"Do you want to answer that, or should I?" Briana asked.
"You go ahead." Kylie said, partially saving herself from any embarrassing moment while answering a door. A simple thing could easily become a total whipeout, she reminded herself.
Without a word, Briana went down the hall to answer the door since her house was just a one story. Coco jumped off the bed and ran after her.
Kylie stood beside the bedroom door to eavesdrop causally.
"Hey guys! Let's go to my room." Briana's muffled voice was heard. "Is Kylie here already?" Josh was asking.
"Yep." Briana replied.
Three pairs of feet sounded louder so Kylie raced to the other side of the room to appear like she wasn't listening to them the whole time.
The light brown door opened, in walking Briana, Josh, and James.
Kylie was so surprised that she fell backwards...out the window.
"Kylie!" Briana gasped. Kylie looked up to see her legs displayed in front of the window. A pain shout up her back and her head pounded in her head.
Three heads popped out. Briana brushed Kylie's legs to the side so they fell in the soft grass.
"You okay?" Josh asked with a concerned look on his face.
"Just peachy." I mumbled. It was silent for a moment.
"Pff, you fell." James said. Briana and Josh started laughing. They turned away from the window, leaving me all alone outside.
I quickly got up and climbed back into the room.
Josh and Briana were laughing on the bed while James just watched them with a smirk on his face.
"Thanks for helping." I mumbled.
"So-sorry Ky-Kylie it's just s-so fu-nny!" Briana went into another fit of laughter.
"Du-dude. Tha-that was a to-total," Josh gasped for air. "Wipeout!"
I rolled my eyes. I waited until they were done. Briana's face was still red but she didn't laugh. "Okay, let's get down to business."
"Right." Josh went into business mode.
"Since you can't be Juliet, how about you be the most beautiful women in the book, Rosaline." James suggested.
"Who?" Josh and Briana asked at the same time.
"Romeo and Rosaline are lovers in the beginning of the play then Romeo falls for Juliet." I explained.
"Oh," Briana blushed. "But she never shows up in the play so I'll remain as the narrator."
Josh was also blushing. "We could make up that part."
"We should do that." James was obviously trying to get a part where he could be with her since Briana had zero experience with Romeo and Juliet.
"I'm Friar. And Rosaline and Friar get together after Romeo and Juliet." James said.
Briana titled her head to the side. "They do?"
"No. Rosaline never shows up so how can she get together with Friar if she never shows up." I spoke up.
James' face turned red with anger. "She's got a point, dude." Josh said.
"I-I was trying to test your guys' skill. You've passed." James stuttered.
"Right?" Briana gave a playful eye-roll. "Let's start rehearsing." She stared straight at me. "Starting with the kiss."
"OK-"
"Why don't we start from the beginning of Romeo talking to Juliet from her balcony." I shouted over Josh.
"Fine." James shrugged his shoulders."Whatever." Briana sounded mad. "Just start." (I'm just going to make up my own little kissing scene since I won't have to plagiarise).
"Oh thy Juliet. Let me seize thy lips with a kiss!" Josh bellowed.
"Romeo! We cannot be. For our parents will kill us!" Kylie said.
"Beloved Juliet, let's do it quick." Josh replied.
"Romeo, kiss me!" Kylie said, her voice was starting to quiver.
"And thus, Romeo did as he was asked." Briana said in the background.
Josh walked over to Kylie. He put his soft hands under Kylie's chin and lifted her face to his. "Are you ready, love?" He whispered.
Kylie blinked but didn't say a word. "Cut!" Briana shouted.
Josh let go of her chin and looked at Briana. "Kylie!" She marched over to me. "Your line is, "Kiss me now, thy Romeo." Briana held the script up to my face.
"Okay. Say action." Kylie said as she went back to her place by the dresser.
"You did good, Kylie." Josh smiled. I smiled back. "Action!" James called.
Oh thy Juliet. Let me seize thy lips with a kiss!" Josh said.
"Romeo! We cannot be. For our parents will kill us!" I reasoned. "Beloved Juliet, let us do it quick." Josh replied. "Romeo, kiss me!" Kylie said with a little more enthusiasm.
"And thus, Romeo did as he was asked." James said.
Josh walked over to Kylie, slower this time. He lifted her chin so she was looking at his deep blue eyes.
"Are you ready, love?" He asked. "Kiss me now, thy Romeo." Kylie whispered.
Josh stared deeply into Kylie's brown eyes. Then, he slowly brought his red lips to Kylie's plump peach flavored lips.
When they were an inch apart, Josh pulled away. "Was that good?" He asked and stepped away from Kylie.
"That was perfect!" Briana cried.
Kylie breathed out a breath she didn't know she was holding.
While James and Briana told Josh how good he was on his part, Kylie secretly sneaked over to the vanity mirror on Briana's dresser.
Her eyes were wide and her cheeks were tinted pink. "You did good, too, Kylie." Briana said.
I turned around and walked back over to my group. "Thanks. So are we good?"
James checked his watch. "Yeah, it five-twenty two right now."
"Kay, you guys better go. My Dad gets home at six and he's so moody when he gets home." Briana said.
At the front door, James gave Briana an unexpected hug. "See you later, Briana." He quickly shuffled out the door before Briana could hug him back.
"Bye..,"
"See ya Wednesday." Josh and Briana did a quick hand shake. Then he left out the door.
She turned to me. "Kylie, you did amazing!" Briana gushed for the second time that day like she didn't just do a very handful handshake with Josh. The Josh Nickles.
"Thanks. But did I look nervous when I was about to kiss Josh?" I asked, insecurely.
Briana frowned for a moment, thinking of what happened ten minutes ago. "Sorta, you blushed and Josh just looked all cool and confident like he kissed girls for a living." Then she giggled. "Inside joke, sorry." She giggled harder.
"Kay, well, see you tomorrow." I said.
"Bye." She gave me a quick hug then shut the door.
