Wednesday

"Guess what, guess what, guess whaaat!" Briana sang happily.

"What?" I smirked in anticipation.

"The Junior and Senior dance is this Friday!"

"So...?"

"So?!" Briana stomped her golden flip-flop on the tile floor. "So, that means we're going. Since we are Juniors."

"I can't. Me and James have plans." I said. Whoa, who knew I would be giving a rain check to Briana?

"Un-plan those plans and make plans for the dance!" Briana pleaded.

I sighed. "Well, I'll have to ask if he wants-"

"Yay! I love you!" She threw her arms around me and squeezed like a bear.

"I'm sure you do." I lightly pushed her away.

"I have a secret!" Briana sang again as we walked down the hallway.

"Whaaat?" I sang back playfully.

She giggled. "Some one has a crush on you." She poked me when she said 'you'.

"Who?" I was pretty excited. Only partially because I already have a boyfriend. But how cool would it be to have the attention of two guys? I think really cool!

"Josh." She grinned. "You know. The guy you've been crunching on for like ever?"

I froze. Josh, the kid who has been treating me like a loser when I did like him? "Yeah, I'll pass."

"What? Why!" Briana stomped her foot. Weren't we just talking about going to the dance? And she knows I have a boyfriend. James....?

"I have a boyfriend." I twirled the golden heart locket on my neck that James had given me yesterday. Oh what a sweet moment....

(Flashback)

"Kylie, I love you. More than you could ever know." James said dramatically.

"Ha ha, James." I smiled.

"Kylie." He started in his teasing voice.

"Okay, okay James, I....like you alot." I burst out laughing as soon as he scowled.

"Fine, I'll give this gift to the other girl I love..." He said.

"Ha- wait! What other girl?" I immediately stopped laughing.

"That shut you up." James mumbled as he pulled a velvet box out of his back pocket. I stuck my tongue out at him.

"I got you something." James said again as he set it in my quivering hands.

I popped open the box slowly. A golden chain sat nestled in the soft tissue. I lifted it to find a small gold heart at the end.

"Aw." Escaped my lips. James chuckled softly.

"Help me put it on. Ooh! Like they do in the movies!" I shouted excitedly. I lifted my red hair from my neck for him to put it on.

His cold fingers brushed against my skin, making me shiver.

"You like?" He asked when he was finished.

"I love." I kissed him on his lips.
