Not Sure of the Day
Days went by, weeks! Kylie hadn't spoken to her so called friends in weeks.
Then, on a Thursday, Briana had the guts to come up to me.
"Kylie, what's been up with you? Are you mad about something?" She asked.
I rolled my eyes. "Have you forgotten what happened three Friday's ago?"
Briana looked at the ceiling then gasped. "Oh, you mean Meredith, Brendon, Olivia, and Danielle?"
"Ditto." I said flatly. "Oh," She batted the air. "That's just the way they act around new people. They can get insecure and feel the need to bag on someone." She rested a hand on her hip. "They can get so jealous sometimes." She sighed in a 'what can you do' sort of way.
"Are you serious? They have nothing to do with why I'm mad!" Kylie shouted, getting frustrated all over again. "Then what is it?!" Briana stomped her foot.
"You! You didn't even defend me! What kind of friend are you?!" Kylie slammed her locker, and hurried away.
Thursday - 2nd period
Kylie slammed her gym bag down and started undressing. She didn't notice that a curious blonde was staring at her.
Kylie finally looked her way. "I'm not gonna strip tease, so can ya look away?" She snapped.
Anna's eyes widened. "Oh, sorry. I was just wondering why you look so angry."
"Oh," Kylie softened her voice and sat next to her. "Sorry, I'm having a rough day."
"Boys, drama, friends?" She asked.
"A little bit of all of them." Kylie replied. "I'm Annabelle, but you can call me Anna." Anna held out her hand.
"Kylie." Kylie shook her hand. "You remind me of my friend, Briana." She commented.
"Briana Hamilton? That girl is hi-larious!" She started giggling and snorting.
"Yep, that's her." Kylie stood up to put on her gym clothes.
"I also know this cute kid named James. He has an adorable accent." Anna said.
"Ya, I know him. He's one of my friends." Kylie mumbled when her gym shirt was over her face.
Anna giggled. "He asked me out, I didn't say yes yet. I told him maybe."
"Hm," Kylie murmured, pretending to be interested in her new friend, but anything about James made her bored as hell.
Friday
"So, you have a new friend?" Smooth Nick, smooth. Kylie thought.
"Yeah, so?" I replied as I picked up a french fry.
"It seems weird...how you made a friend in less than 24 hours. You are a complete dud." Nick smirked.
I stared into his brown eyes. "What's that suppose to mean?"
He shrugged. "You're not good at picking friends."
"No," Kylie stood up. "I'm just good at picking the wrong friends." With a huff, Kylie stomped away.
She sat at a table filled with goth and emo looking people. Anna was the only one who stuck out.
"Hi Kylie! Meet my friends!" Anna smiled.
"This is Ethan." He pointed to a guy with jet black hair that covered his face. His icy blue eyes peeked out from them. He waved with a small smile. "Elaine." A dark-haired brunette sat next to Ethan. She had the same blue eyes, and Kylie wondered if they were twins.
"Bethany, otherwise known as Beth." A girl with multi-colored hair and a piercing above her lip, quirked an eyebrow at me.
"Last, but not least, Skyler and Tyler." This times, the two boys looked exactly the same. Same short black hair, same hazel eyes, and same clothing in various colors.
"Hi everyone." Kylie said. No one replied, they just kept eating their turkey burgers.
Then, the conversation went back in tune.
"Beth, are we still going to your house?" Ethan asked. Beth smirked. "You know it!"
"Guitar hero, like rules!" Anna announced. "Totally!" Elaine said with a big smile on her face showing off a row of mint green braces.
"Damn Elaine, why do you have to look so hot?" Tyler asked with a half pity, half joking expression on his face. "Why must you excessively flirt with me?" Elaine shot back.
The whole table laughed, including Tyler who was blushing.
"Kylie, why don't you join us?" Anna suggested. Kylie blushed. "If it's alright with you guys." She said, referring to everyone around the table.
"It's cool." Skyler and Tyler said in unison. "Fine with me." Beth finally said. Ethan and Elaine nodded their heads in agreement.
"Okay, I'll go." Kylie smiled for the first time all week.
