Summer is such a bummer. Yup, I got off my butt and went to go see Judy Moody and the not Bummer Summer before I go back home. So, updating has been more frequent thanks to summer. Ah. :)

Two Weeks Later - Saturday
"Shawn, guess who gets the food." I started making fake airplane noises as I fed my fake baby.
"Who in the hell is Shawn?" Natalie asked as she came waddling in.
"Shawn," I held up the baby. "My project in Ms. Bock's class.
"Uh, isn't that for 8th grade?" She inquired. I shrugged.
"It is! Ms. Bock is so old-fashioned."
"Um...how many months are you in?" I asked, desperate to change the subject.
"Seven." She rubbed her bulging stomach with affection.
"Then you should know the gender, right?"
She looked up like she had been awaken from a deep slumber. Her mouth formed an O.
"Me, Conner, and Nicole are going to go see today." She said, referring my mom by her first name.
"Can I come?"
She smirked. "Did you have to ask? Come on, we're leaving in a few minutes."
I helped Natalie walked down the stairs because she claims she would fall without my help.
Conner and my mother stood at the open doorway with smiling faces.
"Ready to go?" Conner asked when we reached them.
I looked at Natalie. "Yes." We said in unison.

"Girl." Dr. Yak grunted.
"Cool." Natalie said pleasantly.
"Twin girls." Dr. Yak added.
I widened my eyes with everyone else besides Natalie.
"Nice," Natalie rubber her stomach fondly. "Twin girls?"
"Correct." He shifted his eyes to everyone else. "I'll let you and your family have a moment together." He excused himself out of the all white room.
Natalie hopped off the table with ease. "Y-you're not freaking out." I stated nervously.
She shrugged. "Why should I?"
"Twins!" Ms. Henderson cried.
Natalie smiled. "Twin girls. I know, I'm excited, too."
Conner shook his head. "Nat, we just finished college, we don't have enough money for two babies."
"I agree." I said.
Natalie frowned. "Then we'll make money." Natalie's eyes lit up. "A baby shower!"
"Love it!" My mom exclaimed like a giddy school girl.
"Why not?" Conner and I said together.
We smiled along with everyone else in the room.
Monday
"I have bad news." At the same time, I said, "I have good news!"
Elaine sighed sadly. "You go first."
"Natalie's having twin girls and we're throwing a baby shower." When I didn't get a response, I added, "You're invited!"
"Great."
I cocked my head. "It doesn't sound great to you. What's up?"
"We're moving." Elaine blurted.
It took me a moment to understand what she said. "Moving? But you just got here!"
"I know, but my dad got a promotion."
"Where?" I asked, afraid of what I was going to hear next.
"How far is Colorado?"
"Colorado? No!" I cried.
"We're moving right after school."
"Why so early?" I whispered.
"His boss wants to start him as soon as possible, I'm going home early today."
"Ethan too?"
"Yep."
"Goodbye." I said meekly.
Elaine grimaced. "Not forever. Just for now."
Monday - 4:00
"We just got them, now they're leaving!" Natalie whined.
"That's what I'm saying!" I shouted.
"On the bright side, we won't have to see Elizabeth again." Conner said.
Natalie grinned. "That's right! Yes!" She high-fived her boyfriend.
"We better go."
"I'm going outside." I said.
We all walked out the now empty house. The moving truck was still there and half the family was outside.
Elliot saying goodbye to a dozen girls. Liz hugging and crying with her "BFF's". And Elaine, talking to the moving guy.
"Elaine!"
Elaine turned to me, a black straw hat sat on her head.
"Hey." She smiled, but it never reached her eyes.
"Your still here." I met her on her lawn.
"Yeah, we're almost done. My Dad just needs to sign some papers." She looked back at her house. "Then we're off."
She turned back to me with teary eyes. "Even though we're moving, I hope you can marry my brother one day."
I smiled. Same old Elaine. "Me too." I half-lied. I did like Ethan, a little bit. But I liked Josh and James even more.
"Good, go give him a kiss." She pointed to Ethan who was leaning against the RV.
I blushed. "No...I don't want to..." I said slowly.
Her eyes twinkled. "Let's go Elaine!" Her mother yelled.
She grinned. "See ya later, Kylie."
"Later Elaine." I mumbled into her hair as we hugged for the last time. Hopefully not.
She raced to the RV. She took one last look at me before climbing in.
As they pulled out of the driveway, Ethan, Elle, and Elaine stuck their heads out the window. "Bye Kylie!" They shouted. The RV honked twice.
I waved back, smiling.
The perfect end to a not so perfect day.
