I'm pretty lame for updating but being 18 and all....anyways, I dediticate to the person who made the awesomest bookcover ever! :D

A Few Months Later

The small strands of dark blonde hair that flowed through my fingers felt silky.

"Why do you touch my hair?" James asked.

"Because I like your hair." I answered automatically.

"Well, play with it later. We need to go somewhere." He stood up from his couch.

"Where?"

"The hospital." He was already heading to the door with his keys.

"Who died?" I called after him.

"No one. Get up lazy bone!" He shouted from the foyer.

"Whyyy?" I whined.

"Cause Anna just had a baby."

That got me up. "Okay okay! I'm coming, hold on!"

The Car Ride

James gripped the steering wheel extra hard.

"Nervous?"

James nodded. "A little. Aren't you?" He took one look at me before turning back to the road.

"No. Why should I?"

"What if the baby comes out ugly?"

I burst out laughing. "Not funny! What if it's a girl? I don't want a girl."

My laughs turned to giggle which eventually turned it to a soft sigh. "Or comes out retarded."

"Silly Jamie. Shawn is going to turn out fine." I put a reassuring hand on his shoulder then dropped it as we neared the hospital.

"You think?"

"I know."

"Good." He smiled. I smiled back.

"Don't call me Jamie." He just had to ruin the moment.

Room 206

"Knock, knock. Niggety knock knock." I sang as I knocked on the door.

"Do you do that everytime you knock on a-"

"Come in." I whispery voice interrupted him.

I giggled and pushed open the door.

Inside, Anna was laying down under the hospital sheets. A tiny baby is nestled in her arms with his blue eyes searching around.

I bounded closer. "I named him Shawn." Anna stated.

"He's so cute!" I cooed. Anna cracked a smile. "It took him 7 hours to come out." She glanced at Shawn. "Seven pounds to be exact."

"Seven shall be his lucky number." I said.

I turned around to see James standing by the door with his arms crossed.

Anna must've noticed him too because she said, "Well, you came here to see him. Come here."

"Yeah, come on. He doesn't look ugly to me." I joked.

James rolled his eyes but reluctantly inched towards us.

"Hold him." Anna demanded. "And if you drop him, he'll be retarded all because of his dad."

James sighed heavily then took the baby in his hands. "Hold him right!" Anna shouted.

He glared at Anna before holding him up to his chest and rocking him stiffly like his feet were stuck in gum.

"Aw!" I smiled. Anna made a ugh noise at the same time.

"Here." He handed Shawn back with less stiff arms. They seemed kind of relaxed.

"Wanna hold him, Kylie?" Anna asked.

"That's okay."

"Hold him!" She insisted.

I tried to smile but it came out a grimace. "Sure."

As I held that baby, I felt like an intruder. A home-wrecker. The baby didn't do anything but close his eyes when I started to rock him in my arms.

"You'll grow up to be a good mother, Kylie." Anna admitted.

"Thanks..."

Two Years Later

Outgrowing people are for chumps. If you're wondering, James and I are still together.

We graduated and everything. Oh joy.

"Smiley Kylie!" Briana shrieked.

"Banana Briana!" I replied, just as excited to see her.

We embraced for a full minute. "How's you and James?" She wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.

I laughed. "We're fine. What about you and Nick?"

"Oh we broke up about two months ago." Briana looked like she didn't care. "Josh was right. Friendship relationships don't work."

"Hm." I sighed.

"So...have you talked to Anna?"

"No." I pinched my hip. "Did you?"

"Yeah! I even saw Shawn. He looks just like her and James!" Briana replied.

I pinched harder. "Briana, I have to be honest."

"'Bout  what?" Briana twirled her hair innocently.

"I'm not a virgin." I admitted.

Briana gasped before smiling. "Who's the lucky guy?"

"James! Who'd you think it would be?"

"I thought you were cheating." She shrugged solemnly.

"Well I'm not." I deadpanned.

Briana rolled her eyes playfully. "So what does it matter? Don't tell me your pregnant."

I made a face. Briana stopped mid-laugh. "You did?"

"Yes." I started pacing the length of her living room. "We did it before."

"Where?" Briana asked. "At my 17th birthday party." I said.

"Wait. Wasn't Anna dating James-"

"I was drunk!" I interjected.

"Now you did it again and your pregnant." Briana clarified.

"Yes." I moaned sadly.

She rested a hand on my shoulder. "Open your eyes, Kylie! This is reality."

"Huh?"

"If you have sex with someone, there's a chance you'll get pregnant." Briana said.

"Bu-but he was wearing a condom!" I replied sadly.

"So? Those things don't work everytime." Briana snorted.

"Oh. What do I do?" I asked.

"Tell James." With new encouragement, I stomped down her porch.

"Where are you going?" Briana called after me.

"To find James." I licked my lips. "And tell him I love him!"

I used to do that 'THE END' thing on all my first grade stories. Probably until 3rd grade....
