I decided to add a little humor into this chapter because I severely lack at this.

Preview: I bit my thumbnail and raised my cellphone from my pocket.
I scrolled down a bit till I reached the J's. His was the first J.
I sighed and clicked call.
It rang until someone finally answered. "Hello?"
"James," I scraped my nails across the counter. "We need to talk."

"Okay, I'll be right over." A strained voice responded. The line went dead.
I sat on my couch. Just...to think. Is that weird?
My mom has been coming home later than normal. Was she really going through with suing those girls who beat me up? God forbid their names.
And stupid Conner. He left the babies to our grandparents while he worked on wedding plans. Mostly the bachelor party he was throwing next weekend.
Natalie. The girl was like a sister to me. Always. Now her schedule is clogged with baby things, weddings, and not me.
And then there were two people left that made a big impact on my life. Or should I say five people that have been my friend at one point.
Briana, Nick, Elaine, James, and Anna. Briana, Nick, and Elaine were out of the picture fast. Too fast for my taste.
Nick never talked to me again after the kiss. Him and Briana don't talk anymore. Because of me.
James. The guy I was so in love with. The guy who kissed me. My third kiss from a second boy. I'll count him as my first since Nick didn't kiss me back, twice. Josh and Nick are so out of the picture. But he's taken....
Just then, the doorbell rang. Finally! I looked at the digital clock on the night stand.
6:00 PM.
He's late. I called at 5:55!!!
I opened the mahogany door. Expecting to see James with a rose in his hand. Instead, my bestfriend stood in the door way.
"Elaine! What are you doing here!" I asked in surprise.
"I came to visit you, silly." She let herself in with a blue backpack.
"You're out of school already?"
Elaine peered around my house. "No."
I raise my eyebrow for an explanation.
Elaine sighed and sat her bag on the couch. "Spring break. Aren't you on yours? Hey, what happened to you?" She pokes one of my bruises.
I slapped her hand away. "No. Some things happened. Why are you here though?"
Elaine faked a hurt look. "You don't want me here?"
"N-no. It's just that..." I trailed off and closed the door.
She giggled. "Kidding. But my family is visiting my aunts house in a nearby city."
"That's great. I was kind of hoping to see someone." I glanced at the clock. 6:08.
"Who?" Elaine asked, half-absorbed in the television that showed, Adventure Time.
"You watch that show?"
"Uh huh." Elaine dug around in her bag until she pulled out a white hat with ears. I soon realized it was the exact hat that the kid, Finn wears. She stuffs it over her wild pink hair.
I sat on the edge of my couch and watched along with Elaine. "What's this episode called?" I asked in disgust.
"The Jiggler." She giggled when this gray and white thing stretched around some tree house-type room.
I shook my head at the end. "I'll never get this show."
"Maybe not Adventure Time. Maybe Regular Show." She said, pulling her hat off slowly.
The doorbell rings again. I jump up to answer it. Here he is!
Nope. False alarm. It's Ethan. "Oh, it's you."
Ethan grins all goofy-like. "Yep, me, me, me." He plops down next to Elaine.
"Sorry. I'm just expecting someone..." I looked out the window. The clouds were slightly gray and the sky had darkened.
"It's gonna be a thunderstorm today." Elaine says. Ethan nods with clarification.
7 PM
"So, um, when are you guys leaving?"
"Shh!" Ethan and Elaine both hiss at the same time.
I sighed dramatically. "Listen," Ethan turned to me when it was a commercial on foot cream. "If you called him at five, he's not coming."
"You're right." I admitted.
"He always is." She glared playfully at her brother.
"Maybe I should call him again." I jerked up.
Elaine and Ethan grabbed my arms. "Don't!" They screamed.
"Why not?"
"Because." Ethan stood, followed by Elaine. "He'll think you're desperate."
"So what should I do? Wait until Monday?"
"Yep."
"I'm calling." I pulled away from their grasp and reached for my cellphone. Just when I was about to grab it. I was freakin' tackled to the ground!
"No!" Elaine shouted from on top of me.
Another weight was put onto my back. "I'll sit on Elaine." Ethan said.
Elaine giggled. I groaned. Ethan drummed his fingers on my shoulder.
8 PM
We're still in the same position and it has started to rain. Except Elaine fell asleep.
A knock came on the door. Ethan got up to answer it. Giving me the chance to roll his sister off of me.
"Hello?" Ethan peeked around the door.
"Is Kylie here?"
James. Finally!
I raced to the door. What I didn't see was Elaine's foot in plain site, making me trip over it.
I let out a loud "Ahhh!" as I tumbled to the floor.
"Yes, come in." Ethan opens the door wider, making it thump me in the head. "Ow!"
"Me and my sister were just heading out." He added.
Elaine jumps up, suitcase in hand. "Bye Kylie. Bye James." And the door shuts. Leaving me and James all alone...
