Dragon Stone
Dhaenys's point of view
I woke with the sounds of violins filling my small stone room. It was late morning as my eyes were blinded by the sun storming into my room, and the smell of fire came from the dragon's meal time. "Good morning my princess." The sweet voice of Marlin came over as I found her rushing around the room as she pulled my bed canopy open allowing me to see a musician playing just at the corner of the room. This was not something that would be expected of me every day.
"What is the reason for this, please kind sir you may go." I gestured to the door as the man no older than 40 name days escorted himself out while I kept on searching for more strange men in my chamber. The day felt different, brighter as well as bussy. Through the halls you could hear servants running from room to room moving furniture and cleaning all round seaking of gossip that could not be distinguished passed the stone walls.
"My princess, our queen sent it as a gift for today's celebrations. It is your name day after all. And these..." Marlin pulled out a pile of what seemed to be lavender branches out of one of the many boxes that laid on my room's crowded floor. "These are from me. I picked them out just for you last night. It should help with the nerves."
"You are too kind to me my friend. Yet I feel that this won't be enough to calm my every waking stress. Yet..." I started to move myself upwards just slightly and then threw my legs over the edge of the bed to see if there was any progress with my motor skill as I had done every day for since I had woken from my long sleep. I started to wiggle my toes and then slightly raised my feet making my knees bend once again and although it was small I could feel myself improving. Would this be enough?
"How are you feeling, my princess?" She asked me coming to my side and place my shoes on hopping this would be the day that I would walk again.
"Much better Marlin. I feel as if I could fly..." I knew it was time after so long I would have my way today. That's what name days were for. "Open the balcony doors. Please quick before anyone knows I am up." I rushed to pull the covers off of me and started to pick myself up pulling at the bed frame and furniture around me, stabilizing my balance as much as I could as I approached the large door at the end of my room.
