I heard everyone exclaim, "Whoa!" looking at my brother's phone. I took a look in it. He had caught a lightning strike on his camera. My eyes widened.
The lightning strike had the same shape as the torn pages. I put my nail in the page, and the first page opened. But, it was not blank, there was a map in it.
What shocked me more was, that the paper used to make the map was a really old paper, like an ancient manuscript. The ink used also was not the ones we used now. I felt like it deserved to be in a museum. At the end of the map route, there was an irregular shape, that I couldn't name.
I observed it for a while.
Till I did that, everyone decided to go on the terrace to light a diya there too.We followed them to the terrace. I still was wondering about the coincidence of the torn page to look like the lightning strike. Was it the work of the kids who were playing with the book before I buy it? I could assume that, but the page wasn't sticked by any kind of glue or sticky substance that we used today. They couldn't have just put an ancient map into it and stick it without using any sticky substance.
While I was looking into the map and walking, I felt something near my feet. It was a stone. Specifically a piece of glass. If it were a usual stone I would just kick it and play with it. But I wished to pick it up. Because the shape of the glass stone was the same as the destination of the map.
I suddenly began to exercise touching my feet. Because I knew, that even when I'm 22, my dad would always guide me for being as clean as one can.
Everyone had spaced out for a while looking at me suddenly exercising out of thin air. Including the one year old Prince who looked at me with his big eyes.
I simultaneously picked up the stone. Looking at everyone spaced out, I reasoned them that my back was aching because I was sitting all day. They continued looking at my sister's phone and laughing at it. I was relieved.
"Who's such a dumb to post about a stone missing? Sarcasm at it's peak!"
"There are literally numerous you'll find on roads, beaches and rivers!"
"People have gone crazy in the lockdown!"
"And when they don't find it they'll be like, 'Oh my poor stone died!"
They continued laughing on their lame jokes.
Wow... And that stone is with me. Another coincidence. The posted stone too, had the same shape.
I realized, that this, was a sign of nature! I thought heroically. But what should I do with this information? I thought hard. I then decided, I'll go to the place with the map. I wondered what would happen if I told everyone about it.
Dad would surely say 'throw that stone, it's dirty.'
Mom would just ignore it.
Sister would not say anything in front of everyone, and would act like she doesn't care. But, after a while her curiosity would bring her to me and she would attack me with hundreds of questions.
I usually didn't speak much with her husband because I wasn't very friendly to speak about signs of nature with him. Not to mention the language barriers that I thought existed. So, I just wouldn't tell him.
My annoying brother would think of it as a gaming treasure hunt.
Sasha would only be interested if there were boys.
Trisha would give a dry, "It's interesting." With a poker face.
The little prince would just stare at me for a few seconds, and then lift his hands so that I could pick him up.
But I was curious now that nature gave me so many signs. But where should I start this? And another question was, WHEN should I go?
It was recommended for everyone to stay at home tonight.
Obviously, I'll never find empty roads like tonight on any other day. So, when all will stay at home, I will discover my way...•••••
