Chapter 5: What's My Destination?

Someone asked, "Where are you going?"

I look back to see a village girl, with innocence all over her face. She had wore a traditional dress. I didn't know who is she and why she asked such a question out of nowhere.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Greetings, I'm Sheetal! I've been watching you since afternoon. I thought you have lost way. I know all the ways here. I can help."

I realised, people in these times were very helpful and even helped strangers.

I was indeed frustrated by Sahil's behaviour, so why not speak to someone else?
"Ask this human. I'm hungry, and since afternoon he's making me roam from here to there. I'm so tried of this guy."
I sat on the ground.

Sheetal smiled, looking at my childish behaviour.
"Where are you from?" She asked.

"Mum-..."

Sahil interrupted me.
"A faraway village... Searching for, shelter."
I got confused. Did he just say, 'shelter'? Is he planning to stay here?

She replied,
"You could come to my house then."
She turned back and started walking, expecting us to follow. Sahil followed, but I stopped him, and got up from my place.

"Are you planning to settle here?" I asked, with the tone of a curious relative.

"Plan B. Because we should have a place to stay at night.", he replied.

I agreed. We followed her.

On the way, he broke the silence and asked me,
"Why do you hate boys?"

"Why would I tell yo-..."
Before I completed the statement, I looked at him while he was already looking at me like he had lost hope in this earth.

"Fine!" I replied and began speaking.
"I have 2 siblings. From which Daniel annoyed me alot. Even in school, I would see adolescent boys smoking and bullying each other. Looking at all those stuff at a very young age, my new mind began to mould the thought that boys are bad.
Five years back, I saw Jessica crying over a break up, because her boyfriend had cheated on her. Which made my childhood thought more clear that boys aren't good people.
Now when I look back, I realise that I have been doing this till now because at this age I wish to avoid relationships. I don't actually hate all of them, including-... No, never mind."

I didn't know why did I spoke so much in front of him.

"So you don't hate-..."

"Don't say that!"

"Okay madam I request you. Think whatever you want but just don't kill me. I need to get out of here alive."

I waved my hand near his face and said, sympathizing him, "Okay fine."

We reached to a house which looked like the 200 year old house patterns. We sat on the Khatia's (Traditional hand woven beds) which were kept in the courtyard. She usually stayed alone. Her age looked like 18-20 years. When Sheetal went inside to bring some food, I asked Sahil,

"What about the time, is the time still passing in our world? Because, it's night time there, and if anyone finds out, that I'm out here-..." I stopped.

"The time is paused there. No need to worry about it."

"But how will we reach mu-..."

My chain of words broke, as I felt the warm fist again.
Placed on my lips and nose.

His face came close to mine, just a couple of inches away.

His brown eyes were leveled to mine, as he stared into my soul, sending me chills.
I was freezed, with my eyes wide open, looking at him blankly.

He said,
"We'll reach our village, very soon. We are from a village."
He exaggerated on 'a village'. He got off his hand.

He had seen Sheetal coming from inside. So he quickly changed the topic.

"Thanks", I said. I felt that he's someone useless at first, but now I thought that he has some sort of quality in him. I don't know which quality he had. At the end, I didn't understand his vibe.

I couldn't think of any idea to reach home. I asked Sahil,

"You had told that my time for hardwork would start tomorrow. What about that?"

He replied, "You really believed that? It was a fluke. Even I don't know what's going to happen."

"Really? You don't say anything for waste. You even made me say that I don't-..." I stopped.

He then changed the topic and asked me,
"Don't you think we should roam somewhere to get answers? And although, disappearing from Sheetal's house wouldn't be a difficult task."

"Now you have brought me here, so you are the one to take me out."

"Please! Stop saying that I have brought you here. You entered the teleport out of curiosity."

"Kind of a, truth. I was the one to come here. I shouldn't have done that."

"It's no use of thinking the past. It's your bad luck to meet me."

'Bad luck?' I couldn't understand why did he regret so much. But, it was time to focus. So I agreed to check for a route of move back. I had lost interest to be excavating here.

We began by Sheetal's house. I saw someone entering in her house.

I and Sahil continued to walk a long distance. We were searching a place which felt weird as the place of the teleport.

We had reached a forest. Somewhere near, I could hear some kind of noise open electric wires made. While somewhere far, I could hear some discussions.

I stopped Sahil and asked him, "Can you hear any talking sounds? Who would come to a forest when the time is near sunset?"
