Have people to love you, or maybe animals who trust you. If not that, at least have a kingdom to whom you can sacrifice your life for...
My eyes widened. I knew what he was going to do. I panicked, knowing that I didn't have a good feeling about this. I involuntarily rushed towards him with all the strength I had. But it was too late.
He put the sword into his chest.
"No! Y-... you're not... You're not dying! You'll go back to your daughter!"
He opened his eyes,
"S-... Stop the Man in Black... for me. Or else-... he'll finish... everything."His body cooled down, more than an alive body could be. I closed his lifeless eyes.
My eyes welled up, for an unknown soldier. I never knew him, but I felt his pain. The pain I caused to him.
He left an injury wish. Will my sin get washed away if I stopped him? He was stronger than all warriors, ans I was a civilian who didn't even belong to this era. But I didn't think about that. The only feeling that owned my mind, was determination. I placed down the martyred soldier. I took in a deep breath, and my eyes sharpened. It was a perfect heroic moment, until Sheetal spoke up,
"Umm, Nishant told that he got intel from a spy. A particular gang of robbers is going to take advantage of the war situation. The gang going to try to steal the gold reserves of our Queendom. I'm frightened."
Her voice reduced to a whisper,
"Sahil is-... going for that-... maybe."I replied, confused and a little frustrated,
"What do you mean by, 'going for that'? Is he trying to stop the robbery or something?!""Umm... Yes."
My frustration increased,
"When are you supposed to tell me?""You were not in a state to listen to this... He's going all by himself."
At this point, I was done with that brat's antics.
"All by himself?! Oh God! What should I do with that overconfident little creature?!! I'm heading out.""Uh-... okay, be fine please."
Sheetal lost words. She was worried for us. And I ended up talking too much. I knew for whom I was doing this. I regretted, because I almost scolded Sheetal because I was worried for him.
I was irritated because I worried for him too much.
I was irritated how he was so overconfident about himself.
I was irritated how I loved the moment when he came in and hugged me. I headed to him with aggressive steps.I saw him going towards the palace leniently. I caught his wrist tightly.
"Hey, you! Overconfident creature!"He gazed at me as I held his wrist, sighing,
"How did you know? Sheetal spoke up?""It's doesn't matter who spoke up. I ended up scolding her because of you. I was worried, dumbo!"
Wait, why did I say that?
What?
Oh damn, he's now staring at me with those wide innocent eyes.
He blinked twice, controlling himself from laughing, but a smirk appeared on his face. He muttered,
"And she says, 'I hate boys'"My cheeks turned into a red hue. I stuttered, avoiding eye contact.
"Sh-... shut up... You think of yourself as a one man army, huh?"He luckily decided to slide off the teasing.
"Oh! Maybe. You don't know me still right?""I. Know. You! Not much but yes, I do. And I know what you're trying to do here, you little overconfident creature!"
"Overconfident? What about you, my angry little madam? Thinking that you can repent for your sins by stopping the Man in Black?
Do you know what kind of a warrior he is? Have you seen him fighting?
Look behind. The Prince who defeated the Army commander himself is not going to stay up for long. Can you fight him?"The previous day:
"Fight until ____ enters the war."Today:
I said casually, a twitch forming in between my eyebrows.
"So we both are entering death traps?"He smiled,
"Well, looks like it."I smile, looking up,
"Okay then, either we both die, or we both escape."He smirked,
"Then I know the answer. We're leaving soon, because I'm not dying here."I sighed.
"Overconfident brat!""Well, you underestimate how much I value myself. Try my technique once, you'll never feel overconfident. See you soon."
He left. I thought about the soldier's wish for a while. I didn't want the pressure of being a murderer. I didn't want the bad dreams. Coming to think about it, I felt that the elder Prince was correct at asking for his rights. He should be the king. But if the Queen was true at saying that they are not mature, she wasn't wrong either. It is against rules of war to attack a kingdom at night.
What about the mesmerizing bangle? Is it a correct way to take it? But the question that kept me curious was, what is the bangle going to be used for?I heard the elder Prince say,
"Man in Black... I know you, probably."The Prince was bleeding from every corner of his body, barely holding his sword. His teeth gritted, still determined for the throne. He used his shield to cover up for himself. Within a blink of an eye, the man in black got the Prince on his knees forcefully. I was unaware of this trick.
I knew that at this pace, the Prince wouldn't keep up for too long. I inhaled, closing my eyes. The eyes that opened were sharp and determined. My decision was as firm as a mountain, I am stopping him.
He picked up his sword and when he gone to slash it, I caught his sword, blood dripping off my palm.
He stopped, sounding confused,
"Oh! I don't know why you did this. You could have stopped me with a sword. Why your left hand?""Because you wouldn't have reduced the speed of your sword if I would have stopped you with another sword. The sword would end up in two pieces. I put my hand at stake, so you stopped to ask me my identity."
"Hmm, smart action. Well, I won't ask you your introduction. After all, I know you well."
"What?"
"Oh, didn't you recognize me? Well, no one does though. I think I should get off my black clothes then."
The clothes were tore off, and the real outfit was seen.
"For some reason, I don't want to see you in this clothing. So, I've to stop you from doing this-..."The previous day:
