LILITH
My body shivered.
I ran my palms over the length of my arms in hopes of warming myself up.
The blanket I had was now soaked with water after the man pushed me and made me accidentally tip over the plastic cup.
My eyes started to close on their own when sleeping began to consume my mind.
Despite being cold, I was tired.
I haven't sleep in a long time. I don't even remember the last time I had a proper sleep after I was taken here.
I missed my parents.
So so much.
Just as I was going to fall asleep, the door opened.
I jolted up and rubbed my eyes as the light from outside shone in the room I was staying.
The only light I was able to see was through the small, tiny window in the corner on one of the walls.
Heels clacking on the floor was the only sound that pierced through my ears.
The lady stepped in and ran her palms over her skirt as if trying to wipe off a dust from her clothes.
The bracelet on her hand made noise when the shiny crystal clashed with each other. They were in a beautiful red colour.
She called out for someone and I saw few people enter the room.

I heard Filipa talk to someone in the hallway but the other voice also belonged to a woman which meant it was not Lucian.
He was somewhere in the house though.
I stood up from the chair and took the few steps to the entrance of the living room. I dropped the book on the cabinet and pushed my hair back.
It has been few days now since the doctor checked my leg and I was finally able to walk on my own without Lucian lurking around me or carrying me in his arms.
Just as I wanted to walk out in the hallway, Sloane appeared in front of me.
"Why are you not answering your phone? I have been calling you all morning." She walked past me and started walking further into the living room.
"I haven't touched my phone today." I said and followed after her. It was true. My phone was in my room and the whole day I was reading my book, not paying attention to anything else.
She stopped in the middle of the room and turned around.
She crossed her arms in front of her and lifted her eyebrow.
It looked like she was back to her older self. Her hair was slicked back and she had her makeup done like before. The dark circles around her eyes were still visible but she still managed to master the strict looks she always used with me.
"We were supposed to meet with Mauricia. I had to cancel it because you wouldn't answer my calls."
"I'm sorry Sloane but I wasn't really good in these past few days. It must have slipped through my mind." I said and pushed my hair back.
