LILITH
The days were going by slowly.
I have been constantly home, together with Lucian. He has not left my side which was making me concerned because of how much work he was missing.
He has been spending the days in the office or with me in the living room, making calls or working on his laptop.
Which is why today I went with him to where he had to have a meeting.
I waited in one of the rooms, the door guarded by his workers, while he had his meeting in one of three other rooms of the building.
We drove about three hours till we got there and now we were getting back.
Lucian said that he dealt with my parents...
The word slipped in my mind because of habit.
He dealt with everything and I didn't even question him because I didn't want my mind to stay on that topic. It was further messing with my mind if I did.
"What do you want to do today when we get back home?" Lucian ran his thumb over my thigh. I was wearing jeans and a trench coat on top of my sweater.
It was pouring rain and it was almost pitch black outside from the dark clouds despite being 6 pm.
The sun wasn't set yet.
"I just want to lay down." I was the truth. I never liked traveling in the car for this long. Even if it was only three hours, to me it felt like we had been traveling for thirteen.
Being in the car for too long made sickness form in my stomach.
And we weren't even driving on the highway so the road was filled with curves which made the nauseousness rise its way to my throat.
"We have two more hours." He said and I arched my head back, resting it on the seat.
I closed my eyes for a second and tried to focus on something else. The soft melodies of the song playing on the radio filled the room as well as the strong rain hitting the windshield.
The road was barely visible.
I tried to take a nap at least but I couldn't sleep. I drank a coffee while I was waiting for Lucian and now I was full of energy.
"Shit!" Lucian's voice echoed inside the car and I immediately turned my head to him.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Something's wrong with the car..." His words trailed off and I felt the car slow down. Lucian parked on the side of the abandoned road and stopped the car which made some weird noises that proved something was really wrong with the car.
I chewed on my lip and the sickness I felt earlier turned into panic.
There were no other cars here.
"What are you going to do?"
"I'll check what's wrong, maybe I'll be able to fix it." He opened the door and stepped out before I was able to stop him. It was pouring outside.
Now I regretted not taking an umbrella with me. I didn't think I was going to use it though.
The panic in my chest didn't settle down as I watched Lucian open the hood and check for the problem.
He was getting soaked under the rain more and more with each passing second.
He closed it after a minute and walked by the door. He sat inside and pushed his wet hair out of his face.
