LILITH
My face was hurting of how much I was smiling.
"You can do the salad and we are done." Rodger said and walked to the stove. I nodded my head and washed the vegetables.
Today when I woke up, Lucian was not home. That didn't bother me because I was too nervous so actually face him after last night.
We kissed. We actually kissed.
I lost all of my senses in my head and actually kissed Lucian.
And it was my first kiss. With the man I thought that hated me. His words were still playing in my mind even when I fell asleep and when I woke up.
"You were on my mind all the time. You still are. Every second of the day is you I think about. Your face is the what I dream about and your voice is what I imagine before closing my eyes at night. A whole year I have lived in pain of not being able to get close to you."
Then the memories of the paintings flashed through my head and a smile formed on my lips yet again. I have never received such a gesture from anyone.
In all this time I thought that Lucian was not being able to stand to even look at me. I was so wrong so, so wrong.
I hated him before for acting like that towards me when I so badly wanted him to be in Sebastian's place. It was a sick thought but I couldn't erase it from my mind.
Sebastian was still alive when those things were twirling in my mind and it made me feel disgusting.
I started cutting the tomatoes and Rodger continued to do whatever he was doing.
I wanted to make dinner today. For me and for Lucian. I still didn't know how he was going to react but it was the first thing that popped up in my head when I entered the kitchen this morning.
"Do you need any help Lilith?" Filipa asked as soon as she stepped close to us but I shook my head with a smile.
"Thank you but no. You can go and rest. Me and Rodger are almost done with the food." She chuckled and nodded her head twice. I didn't fail to notice her eyes stay on Rodger for a bit longer than on me.
She exited the kitchen and I turned to Rodger.
"Do you like Filipa?" The question left my lips and he slowly turned to me. His eyes slightly wide. His bushy salt and pepper brows raised up the tiniest bit.
A light shade of pink crossed his nose and cheeks.
"Ah, no. We are just friendly. You know we have been working here together for a while now."
I hummed and grinned.
"I think she likes you. You should ask her out."
He chuckled and turned to the stove again, trying to avoid me looking at him.
