LILITH
four months later...

The sun peeked through the clouds, laying its rays on my skin.

I looked out of the window and rested my hand on my growing belly. It was bigger than I thought it would be this month, but what was I expecting when I was carrying two little babies?

I shifted in my seat.

Today was the day that I was going to meet my biological parents for the first time.

Lucian said that they were expecting me and that didn't help with my increased anxiety. Of course, they had to tell them, we couldn't just show up there unannounced.

Artemio and he also told me some information about them. They lived not that far away from us. My dad Ethan, is a salesman, and my mother Diana, is a primary school teacher. Then they also said that I have two more siblings. The twins Nina and Kain who were still in high school.

We have waited for a while for this.

I wanted to get better physically and also mentally.

Too many things have happened in my life that I needed a little bit of a break.

Almost three months have passed since I found out about them and today I was going to finally see them in person.

"Did you take your magnesium pills today?" Lucian asked and placed his hand on my thigh.

"Yup."

"And did you eat enough this morning?"

I grinned at him and nodded. "I did."

Lucian has been out since 5 am today because he had work to do. He wanted to finish everything earlier because of our trip.

"Do you maybe want to pee? I'll stop at the next gas station." He knew that because of the pregnancy, I couldn't hold my pee for too long. It was something that scared me before but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Many things that I was scared of, I got to know were not as bad, at least not for me. Or maybe it was the fact that I was fortunate enough to have a good support system and lived in luxury, which allowed me to have whatever I wanted. The majority of women didn't have that.

That's why I couldn't really complain. And I had an amazing husband.

"No, I'm just really nervous."

"They'll love you more than anything."

We had been traveling for more than two hours and it seemed like we were getting closer to their home.

I took a few deep breaths and bit my lip in nervousness.

Everything will be okay.

I leaned my head back again and patiently waited for us to arrive.

Another thirty minutes passed away when we entered a smaller town. I haven't been here before but it seemed like a pleasant place.

There were a lot of people outside, walking around with their friends or pets. The Cafes and the shops were also filled with people.

I smiled and intertwined my fingers on my lap.

"It says that we'll be there in five minutes." Lucian's words made my lungs squeeze. I needed to calm down. My hormones were not helping though.

Even though it was not cold, I still felt a chill run down my spine.

Those five minutes felt like five hours to me.
